  1. Looking forward to the police radio chatter, it will increase immersion immensely. I'd actually enjoy seeing officers use the baton if they feel like wasting an unarmed suspect. Plus it would stop the general panic that comes with gunshots and drivers in the game.
  2. Looks nicer than the other one I found! Thanks for the link to the helmet, too.
  3. Bit of a bump, but I have something interesting. SWAT will respond in more vehicle models if dispatched as the "PoliceAutomobile" dispatch type instead of "SWATAutomobile". Vehicle passenger limits apply, however. Most vehicles are limited to two officers (FBI2 responds with only two officers if set as "PoliceAutomobile", but three as "SWATAutomobile"). FBI works with only four, and Riot... has issues; all I was getting was empty ones driving around when set as "SWATAutomobile" (so does police4 sometimes, though, even though it works just fine for normal dispatching...). It does work as a "PoliceAutomobile", but with only two officers in it. Using any helicopter other than a polmav model for the SWAT rappel helicopter seems to cause an instant CTD when tries to drop passeners. Frogger2, the FIB variant, ALMOST works, except, instead of rappelling, they just hilariously fall to the ground (it works nicely when the helicopter decided to land and let them out). Tried to add the heist helicopters for the Army base, but they don't cooperate. The Buzzards and Cargobob do, though sometimes are flaky about engaging you.
  4. Try using only the files from the Christmas DLC (it includes its own vehicle rpf and meta).
  5. I've run into issues with way too many helicopters being spawned, but nothing like that, at least that I have noticed.
  6. Hmm, bummer. Also may have gone a bit past stable as I've had a few crashes after added the new vehicles and a ped, and overhauled the dispatch file.
  7. Works great, using the christmas DLC files to add the new vehicles. Added vehicles I have working and spawning from dispatch levels: SAHP CruiserSAHP BuffaloLSSD InterceptorLS County AmbulanceLS County Fire Truck
  8. Imagine the AI's driving and flying if it were IV...
  9. Bummer that LSPDFR probably won't take these new vehicles into account when choosing spawns. At least they can be added to what the game chooses normally, though there are several other files that need changing. The group files used in mods such as Back on the Beat need to have the new models added so they'll spawn along with the original cars, but offhand I don't know all the files. Well, following the tutorial and adding the LSPD bike the game includes as a separate one should work nicely.
  10. After installing this, the parking lights on all vehicles are on at night even when not occupied. Any way to revert just that?
  11. In GTAV, cops do wear body armor, at least visually, at higher wanted levels: three stars and up if not two and up. There's a section in the dispatch file that deals with it, at the very least, and perhaps other files, too.
  12. You also do so by modifying the software in any way, no matter how big or small. Still, if folks don't want to support users who do so in certain ways, it's your decision. Just don't use stupid reasons to explain it.
  13. "Cracked" does not mean "pirated". Any legitimate game can be cracked for various reasons (bypassing annoying CD or online checks, allowing modifications, allowing offline play). It a disappointing knee-jerk reaction that "cracked = pirated". Making a copy of your game files is "prating" under this definition, same with distributing modified game files.
  14. It's funny how quick "piracy" and "not supporting" came out even when OP mentions having purchased the game in the first place.
  15. Are you using this file: update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf? R* made updates to several police related things since release, and since the update files will superseed the base files, you'll have to change those instead.
  16. OpenIV recommends exporting in dds, I think. You'll need to track down a dds plugin for GIMP if I remember correctly.
  17. Like I said, you can change the texture on the car, but it won't change the color of the light corona or the environmental reflections, at least for my best guess.
  18. Well, the light textures are in the vehicle files, but that doesn't change the corona or environmental lighting colors, and those are controlled somewhere else that may not even be cracked for editing yet.
  19. You guys are silly (you know who you are).
  20. 3 days. Well, at least that let's me get my PC issues settled.
  21. OpenIV to extract, Photoshop, GIMP or various other programs. A lot of trial and error and simply working within the space the existing content was and checking it every time. That's what I would guess.
  22. And of course my main system chose yesterday to die for some reason...
  23. It hurts them because it might stop people from shelling out for in-game cash, which really is the point of the way they run GTA Online. Mods in singleplayer getting hit is just collateral, but since they don't make money off of people playing it, it's not much of a concern.
  24. I figured most anything placed on the front door of one side would end up on the back door of the other. It's still something at least.
  25. Sadly only one side will look correct for now.
