  1. LSPD First Response: Discussion and Suggestions Forum This forum is only for General Discussion and Suggestions related to the LSPD First Response modification. You may: Discuss features of the modification. Offer your input for future versions of LSPDFR. You may not: Ask for support - use the dedicated support forum instead: https://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/forum/920-lspdfr-04-support/ Post informative topics or guides about LSPDFR - post these in the support and information forum instead.
  2. There's 10 or so stations which can be used in LSPDFR. 3 of which (Paleto, Sandy Shores and Downtown) can be used for dropping off suspects at.
  3. My recommendation would be to leave the game as-is. LSPDFR doesn't manage ambient cops, unlike LCPDFR (yet), so this might lead to unwanted situations.
  4. Okay, now you've truly gone insane.
  5. B-b-banner... changes?
  6. I think Code 2 is generally accepted to be a higher priority response than Code 1 but still without lights or sirens. I think most commonly Code 2 is used to assist with traffic stops, etc. and while the response is meant to be quick, it isn't an emergency situation. I believe it is quite common for a response with lights but not sirens (especially in cases where sirens are turned off when near the scene) to be termed Code 3 Silent instead.
  7. Code 2 is no lights or siren. Code 3 is lights and siren.
  8. It is? It looks putrid!
  9. The anticipation is killing me. Preparations going well so far, however...
  10. Guys, come on, we all know that isn't a real countdown. You just used a trainer for it!
  11. Please don't break your keyboards. We're still applying the finishing touches.
  12. Done.
  13. With the release of the first version of LSPDFR almost imminent, we've put together a preview detailing the large variety of features that it will be packing. In terms of actual detail, this is by far the most comprehensive look at LSPDFR yet, and we hope that it will go some way in answering the many questions we receive about what will, and will not, be in the first release of the modification. You can take a look at this brand new preview over on the official LSPDFR page at http://www.lspdfr.com

  15. There won't be anything like this in the first version (other than a nice character customisation screen), and I don't really want to spoil our plans for later versions! An interesting question actually. The custom pursuit AI is one of the things I spent the most time on during development, although it'd be hard to give an accurate estimate of how long it took to make, as it went through quite a few revisions and rewrites, although it was only just completed at the start of the week and had been in development since about a week after the first announcement. This doesn't necessarily mean it is the best AI in the world, as developing things 2 weeks after the release of the game was pretty hard with so many unknowns.
  16. I briefly glanced at your post when you asked why it was hidden - I wasn't the one that hid it. On second glance I can see your humour in there. What's done is done. That'd be nice from now on.
  17. You went on some silly angry caps infested tirade against someone just asking how the patch affected LSPDFR development and if it changed the release date. Not cool. I'm sure Rockstar were perfectly okay with mods until the multiplayer component of their game, and it is a rather large component this time around, was rendered entirely unplayable for the tens of thousands of people that wanted to play it! Obviously the police station was always meant to be closed, they must've forgotten to lock the back door the first time around. It is intended solely for the heist mission.
  18. We'll be fine.
  19. I'm sure Rockstar do to an extent appreciate what the modding community have done for their games. If you look back to San Andreas, things like MTA (one of the multiplayer mods for it), were actually recognised by Rockstar and if I'm not mistaken, there was even some communication between them. The problem here is probably quite simple. GTA isn't what it used to be - it now includes regular updates to keep people playing it. With these regular updates comes the chance for Rockstar to address other issues at the same time. One of these issues just so happens to be that the online portion of their game, which is now a key part of it, was essentially unplayable. Of course the optimal solution is one which prevents modding in online, while allowing it offline, but this is probably quite hard to do. Modding comes as an added bonus to the game. Rockstar will recognise the benefit of it as far as the PC version of the game is concerned. They will be well aware of the countless hours of added gameplay and the thousands of extra purchases of the game it generates - this is a certainty. By no means is it essential, however. The game will survive without modding, Rockstar will still make multi million dollar profits on it. Don't expect them to bend over backwards to come up with an intricate solution to modding, when the simple solution is to remove it.
  20. You don't just accidentally do something like this. It is a very targeted attempt to stop script modifications.
  21. Our current approach to the issue is as sensible as can be. We tread a fine line between some degree of freedom while still being a reasonably appropriate place. You have to understand that the vast majority of members of this community are younger than the age ratings on the games it deals with. In most modern societies, it is considered inappropriate for younger people to be exposed to excessive amounts of profanity and the same is true here. At the same time, we get that using profanity to emphasise a point or to convey a strong feeling is an age-old practice and we try to allow some leeway as such. At the end of the day, with a community of this size, we have a responsibility to do our best to cater to everyone. I'd like to hope that most parents would be fine with their kids using our site, and I'd also hope that most adults don't feel as though the site is exclusively for kids.
  22. I'm guessing the Open IV ASI is independent of any script hook then?
  23. Rockstar Games have just released the "Ill-Gotten Gains" content update for GTA Online, featuring a bunch of new multiplayer content like gold plated private jets. Like previous content updates, this has once again prevented script modifications from functioning. According to Alexander Blade, author of the original C++ Script Hook for GTA V, new protections against modding have also been added to the game. Information from Rockstar about the update is here: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire Information from Alexander Blade about modding is here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/788343-vrel-script-hook-v/ If you want to continue using script modifications in GTA V, I highly recommend that you make a backup of your game files and avoid updating to the latest version. Obviously this might impact upon our plans for LSPDFR. If so, we'll let everyone know in due course. According to GooDNTS, developer of OpenIV, file-based mods still work. Edit by LMS: Nothing is broken for eternity, just give us some time.
