What Do You Want To Do With Your Life?

Featured Replies

I just want to be me. I've seen friends and people I used to know turn into druggies, kidnappers, dealers, crap like that. I just want to avoid that route and enjoy life wherever it may lead me.

Will do buddy, What force are you with?

It says Road Crimes Unit, Thames Valley Police in his signature.

Just started my first year of college for Air Traffic Control.

ATC, the most stressful job on the planet. Good luck.

As for me I would like to join the Western Australian Police Force, still got a long way to go. But once (if) I get in, I'd like to be transferred to an American Police Agency.

Road Crime Unit TVP, our main job is to take unlicensed drivers and vehicles off the road. Effectively anything that's illegal we want on the back of a tow truck or the back of our cars.

However with alcohol becoming a big problem we're often called into cities to help with fights if they get out of hand.

That's just a quick bit of background

you do realise theres rapists and murderers on the streets and your there checking for unlicensed drivers, do something useful :D just kidding...

The RCU has one of the biggest job list in a police force in Britain. They can deal with a large number of drivers everyday.

Think of it this way, let's say they do extremely well in one day and stop 50 drivers.

Out of those 50 drivers, about half of them are hostile or uncooperative. They usually get to drive sweet ANPR cars and, if lucky, this:

My knowledge might be a little off.

Currently studying for Police, on my way to KLPD

After several years of experience there I can apply for AT (Arrestation Unit)

And maybe one which more earn. Last year, in my country they wanted to cut their excessive salary, something normal in crisis, so they did a strike, something they weren't authorized to do due to the responsibility of their job (I mean, they must be there, or the air would be a chaos..), claiming to have stress, so they fucked up the air space during a while; finally military took their place, I don't remember if these controlers were prosecuted or dismissed, but after that I think their job should be exercised by military, who have some discipline and obey orders, and are trained to work under stress situations.

My plans are to become a police officer for the city of milwaukee.

I need to get college out of the way first which should be about 4 years.

(warning life story down below)

People ask me why I want to be a cop and I have a story behind it that I will share for one of the 1st times.

When I was 5 or 6 I was playing in this ditch we have in front of our yard. ( it is a ditch that in that separates the road so on one side traffic goes north and the other side traffic goes south) I was about 150 yards away from my house when this purple SUV drives past. At 1st I didn't think anything of it than all of a son it pulls a U-turn and comes flying back at where I was. I knew something was wrong so I started to run back to my house. The guy gets out of his car and grabs my shirt I manged to get out of my shirt and run home. The guy screams something ( dont remember) Than drives off really fast, my mom calls 911 saying I almost was kid napped. A few days later police arrest the man and charge him with get this. Murder x2, kidnapping, and atp kidnapping. He kidnapping 2 kids before trying to kidnap me, so what he did was take the kids rape them than killed them and dump there body somewhere. Finally charges on him were, Murder kidnapping atp kidnapping, rape, child sexual assault and a lot of other ones. Scented to Life in prison without parole. Through out my life I have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, when I was at the Wisconsin dells I was 14 at the time I was a women hit by a car and her let was touching her face. Heard a gun shot that killed someone, to put the icing on the cake iv seen someone killed in a car crash.....

If you want to friends with me think again....

So all in all want to be a cop to help make the world a safer place I would do it even though no one payed us

I wan't to become a police officer to put people like that behind bars also to help and keep the world a little bit safer.

If you don't want to believe me go head I won't blame you because I can hardly believe it my self.

True story, bro? Because I live in Wisconsin and anytime someone gets charged with murder it hits the news and I never, ever, saw someone on the news that was charged with Murder x2 and sentenced to life without parole.

Well, I just googled "man charged with Murder x2, kidnapping, and atp kidnapping in wisconsin" and didnt find anything so it might not be true.

Currently in my second year of college, already spent three years on a public services course and already achieved level's one and two, working towards level three.

Next year, I'll be old enough to join Sussex Police as a Special Constable. Eventually after a year or so I'll hopefully become a Roads Policing Officer and get to drive one of these beauties:

Good luck with that Harper. Hope you make it

Good luck on getting your CDL's taximan. Its a very rewarding career.

I had wanted to be a truck driver ever since I was a kid so I got my CDL's back in 93 as soon as I turned 21 and started running North Carolina to California hauling furniture out and produce back.

Thought I wanted a change of jobs and joined the Sheriffs dept however I missed trucking so I went back in and bought my own truck.

Lack of business experience and being leased onto a shoddy company lead to me losing the truck (my first paycheck was a you owe us $) so really learn the business by being a company driver before taking a plunge into buying your own truck.

To everyone entering law enforcement, good luck aswell.
