I cant figure out how to run lspdfr on the new Rockstar games launcher and I cant launch lspdfr through rage hook. someone please help. :/

In order to play with RagePluginHook you will need to launch Grand Theft Auto V either via Steam or the Launcher, load into Singleplayer, tab out and launch Rage. It may take a minute to hook and freeze, but soon after it will still hook.

BTW forgot to mention, if it says «Slow System or Insufficient Permissions.» Try to start RPH and GTA V at the same time and see if that works.

@Arin171 Thanks for the update, i had the additional issue. launching via steam then the hook did not work. What worked for me is to launch via the rockstar launcher then the hook with success.

 

Wonder why Rockstar is pushing this launcher as it's clearly causing issues. hopefully lspdfr can create a fix for this (if it's actually possible) rather than the work around.

This totally sucks.  I run an older version of GTA5 that was stable with LSPDFR.  I can't launch the older version with this crappy launcher.  Looks like they are forcing us to stay updated.

it's beyond that now, plugins are malfunctioning now too, EUP and ELS no longer work, this launcher has screwed up a lot of things. i could understand if it was a game update, but it wasn't even that.

I have els and uniforms in single player thru openIV but no lspdfr

wow that works seems like it loaded thanks also for this never thought of doing this wow

yep looks like the update.rpf updated so all cars and stuff are back to default. if u launch gtaV from steam and then launch rph after that it will still hook no issues so far everything works but cars are gone and els for me still works but the lights aren't right due to wrong car from it reverting back to defaults. i'm sure rph will be updated soon to allow time for the new Rockstar launcher phase to process then apply the hook for rph to work.

Some have speculated it's so Rockstar can hide Red Dead behind their garbage launcher.  While that sounds accurate, another possibility is that future GTA titles will be exclusive to their launcher and not be on Steam - or if they are on Steam, require the launcher still.  A third reason, his was another attempt at fucking over modders.  While some people have reported PC issues resulting from this launcher, what it ultimately fucks up is modded GTA.

 

This new launcher was so unnecessary.  There was no need what so ever for it.

Same.  I was never going to update GTA unless I had to get a new PC, yet here I am, forced to update because cockstar just can't stop screwing people over.

I'm straight up depressed. It's been a really long week at work so far and it's just going to get longer. Just wanted to get in an hour of LSPDFR after work ended at 930PM. Even had some new textures I wanted to try out and was really looking forward to it. 

 

Instead, I get back to this update which breaks my older version (have been running on the pre-Diamond Casino version with 0.4.2 - incredibly stable for me). So, I update GTA5 with the Diamond Casino DLC and now my game perpetually crashes due to some access violation error. Have tried deleting my mods folder and all, and I just can't even get vanilla GTA5 to launch without that crash. Zzzz.

 

Sorry, I know I'm not adding anything constructive to the conversation, but I just needed to vent and I figured you folks would understand, hah. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm with you.  A friend of mine, @Diamond Casino and Resort had  his PC trashed from this launcher.  I got GTA installed, but I'm dreading launching it.  If it works, that means I will spend the next 48 hours+ trying to dance with modded and see if it works and is stable.  If it doesn't work, I'm uninstalling GTA and never buying another game from Rockstar.

Sorry complete noob to this stuff I will admit it. I was just getting the hang of installing mods with a stable lspdfr gameplay and this happened. So when you say TAB OUT does that literally mean hit the TAB key to get out of the game window then launch  through the ragplugin? I know I'm a noob.

Man, I hear ya. That really sucks. Sigh. Oh well, it looks like all I can do is to be editing and uploading my screenshots these couple of days.

The 'Launcher' is a stupid little crapy thing that no-one wants or need which takes up RAM and CPU that I could be using for other things, on top of which my game is stuck at 30FPS even though just a few days I could run it at 90+. 

 

Edit: aprrently my V-sync was changed to half, dosne't change my mind on this.

so your launcher now launches our launcher, which launches our other launcher, which launches our game

so you now finally have enough time to grab a can of VB before the game finishes loading in on your fancy new SSD

 

also I spent 5 hours yesterday and 5 more the day before setting up a set of skins for a fleet of new vehicles and now I can't even use them :^)

 

Edit: I ran the flowchart in my head and I'm actually short a launcher if you're launching through Steam (see edit comment for flow)

I'm seriously considering turning my legit copy into a ''not legit'' copy because this new launcher will mean that every little patch or update will completely screw over your modded install. In addition to all the other bullshit its gonna cause. Rockstar might have finally achieved to silently kill modding. 

this launcher is a disaster, I understand the gta V to be able to modify its modifications ......... it is disappointing what rockstar does

FFS, all I wanted to do was to launch LSPDFR and chill out a little bit in the morning prior to start of the entire day. But NO, Rockstar had to release another fucked up update no one really needs nor wants. Except that, Multiplayer would have died ages ago if there weren't any real life related servers. They should just let us play on our own, yet, I guess, they can't wrap their brains under such a not-so-sophisticated idea.
