Ultimate Backup / Default Reg. Questions

Featured Replies

I am customizing the Default Regions for Ultimate Back and under State Patrol I'm not sure about the vehicle chance.  I changed the vehicle set to spawn distance instead of chance like it still is under the policeb.  Then I was going to change the 5 added lines to chance for each vehicle.  BTW I know it has to equal 100.  I would like the policeb to be set to chance of 10 and then the individual vehicles chances.  Because the policeb vehicle set chance is still as it was but I changed the vehicle set to spawn under the cars section is that going to glitch it?  Is the game not going to read it right?  How should I set the chance for those so the game reads it right?

Also what is PAX?  Is that how many officers in the vehicle?  What is pax_chance for?  And does that need to equal 100?

PAX is passengers, PAX chance is the chance the passengers will be in the vehicle, and must equal 100. PoliceB shouldn't glitch as its a vehicle, but one thing I noticed is that you have a chance set for the police bike loadout/vehicleset but not not for the vehicle set above it. Chances for vehiclesets must equal 100 as well.

As The Loot said, PAX chance doesn't need to equal 100

You have no vehicle set chance number for the cars but you do for the Police Bike is set at 30 so you need to set the cars set chance to 70 so that the vehicles total 100 for both sets in other words 70% of the time a car will show and 30% chance your back up will be a bike, also you have 5 Hway vehicles with veh chance set to 75, the total for all vehicles shouldnt be greater than 100 so for five cars they should be set at 20 each

Ok I adjusted it a bit.  How does this look?  Do I still need to put the vehicle set chance to 90 or is the individual vehicles chances that add up to 90 ok?  If not then I'll put the vehicle set chance back there and take out the spawn distance.

Chances for all VehicleSet entries in a location need to add up to 100, so add chance="90" to the hwaycar one. Same for all entries in a single Vehicles tag, so make sure all the highwaycar chances add up to 100 as well.

Ok.  I think I got that and made the changes.  I'll see how that works in a second.

One more question.  I use Jurisdictions+ and in the agency_(whatever agency) there is a loadout chance=xx.  Is that the same as the vehicle set chance?  Because there is a loadout chance for the cars section and a loadout chance for the policeb.  Both those chances equals 100.  So maybe it's just worded different due to different authors?  Just need to confirm so I can make those changes then I should be good.  Thanks

HI SGT,

I just happened to check in here after being MIA for about a year on here and playing LSPDFR.  I've been p[laying GTAO more and I only have much time in a day.  I am just about to update LSPDFR folder cuz it is a year out dated.  At that time (4 years ago) I don't remember where the additionals came from.  The main would have came from LSPDFR and maybe anything added to the regions file may have come from ultimate backup (?)  Or I might have installed additional regions default files from some mod I installed from this site.  About all I can say is learn how the file is laid out and works.  Then there are some other mods with additional defaultregions that you can install.  I don't remember what additional file I may have installed.  Also I did learn to add lines to the defaultregions xml so that is why you more than normal.  You would have to give me a month to refresh my memory on how to edit that file.  I want to get back playing LSPDFR and I am so busy right now.  I'll do what I can.
