Could there be a way to edit the texture on the ballistic shield by any chance ?

Looking forward to LSPDFR plugin developers being able to use all the great new API enhancements in this update! This update will really open up a lot of new possibilities for callouts and plugins. Bi

I saw this chic before flashing a badge - wasnt sure if it was legit (she had a freaking attitude..) she took off and I ended up shooting her... True story.

If I had one suggestion: I love the animations you guys add, but to access and play them, is kind of a hassle right? I never get myself to do it. I would suggest a way to individually keybind those animations as an optional thing, so for example shift + 1 is drinking coffee, shift + 2 is showing your badge....etc. This would allow us to quickly trigger those great animations.

Could you please elaborate a little on what animations you mean exactly? Are you referring to the "Action" in the Interaction Menu or the "Action" in the Police Radio, or perhaps both? Holding down CAPSLOCK should play the currently selected one from the Interaction Menu, but I can certainly understand the need for more keybindings.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

I wrote this on the LSPDFR's official post linking to this thread but I will re-post it here:

Adding the flashing a badge might lead to an interesting potential expansion of LSPDFR: detective. ;)

Actually, expanding into the detective branch for the LSPD First Response would be ironic given that the Rockstar Games was the publisher of L.A. Noire which had you playing at first as an uniformed officer and then a detective after the promotion. Not to mention that game was also in Los Angeles (albeit in 1940's), which the city of Los Santos was modeled after!

And if there is one thing I loved, it is the detective mystery. And this can potentially open the door for making the stories. Interesting stories would be a great addition that would enriches the LSPDFR. Anyway, that is something to think about long-term.

maybe we'll be able to change it's textures

the shield i'm talking about is a different prop model though. the riot shield one i mean. but now that i think about it, POLICE, SHERIFF, STATE POLICE, FIB, etc. would be pretty freakin' cool!!

Looks great and all but personally i'd rather have FPS improvements and less texture loss, after about 3 high poly vehicles being spawned on a pursuit the game shits its self.. at this point I've had to close LSPDFR out probably several hundred times, so now i'm used to it and don't care to much but still.

I don't know...

i agree. performance optimization is needed especially during pursuit and vehicle pull over, which sometimes makes FPS fluctuated a lot.

Yeah, I mean if I gotta be honest i'd go back to the 0.3 days if there was no texture loss, which honestly, there was not much texture loss and with ultimate backup it had a good backup system.

Yes texture loss is a problem!

Yes, sorry, I meant for both! That would be nice. I think the Action section in the police radio would need it even more badly as that is hidden in another menu. Being able to for example press shift+1 and then have the earpiece animation run whilst using vocal dispatch would be amazing and a whole lot more immersive.

Also, sidenote 🙂 ,  I remember in 0.3 when holding capslock your player would switch between these cool subtle animations like crossing his/her arms, holding his/her duty belt and such, is that ever going to make a return?

That said these are small things and you have enough things already I'm guessing 😉 , keep up the great work, looking forward to 0.4.2!

Mod it until you break it.

The best thing you can do to improve performance is to stop installing super hi-poly unoptimized models that don't have proper LODs.
