Pursuit Option 0.4

Featured Replies

I am liking the new system with 0.4 where if you lose visual on a suspect, an X appears on the map, but I noticed that you really don't have much time to search for the suspects and then they escape.  I wish there was an option to increase the time or a mod to modify this setting.

Sure, we can add a multiplier for that.

I appreciate that!  And that would keep the suspect vehicle and or ped persistent?  Also, do the AI police actually implement similar searching algorithms to the vanilla police when searching for you in SP?  Also, do ambient units that spawn also attempt to join and search as well?

Yes, it would keep them persistent. It will just take longer then to end the chase. Police AI have a basic search algorithm, but nothing too sophisticated. Ambient units will join, but only if very close to the chase and if the chase itself does not have too many units. Please note that when the suspect is lost and say they get 500 meters away from you, there will be no ambient units around as they do not spawn there (since the whole world of GTA is based around the player).

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

I notice that units (including called for backup) despawn quickly when contact is lost, even if they are close to the location or had just spawned in (depending on how that works) close to the suspect. It makes the search somewhat difficult, even with a helicopter (which don't seem to despawn, thankfully).

@alpha30xyz If a tree falls in a forest and you’re not around to hear, it won’t make a sound. The whole universe is based around the player ; why would GTA be any different?

.....your point?

I agree with you, having a longer time to catch up is in fact a great idea. Seeing how GTA V is set in a social media age, where almost everyone have a phone. It's sure to say that some people will spot the person who ran from you and either report to 911 or post it on social media sites. Giving you an idea to catch up.

Edit: Even in real life if the police loose sight of you they will put out a BOLO on you, so other officer's can find you even if there's been days a part!

Good idea for a plugin: remember the details of the peds and vehicles that escaped from chases, and spawn them randomly around the world with proper alerts that can pop up in LSPDFR and other plugins.

That's even better than what I said, would require some brainstorming but that's actually a pretty solid idea to be fair!

That was what I was about to propose as well.
