This is a great community ! I have done my interview today and the staff is just great. Very friendly members and staff. It is also very organized and is ran by very intelligent people. The Sheriff himself is in a Sheriff's Department in real life! Very great, organized, realistic community. I highly recommend this community!

From the Office of Sheriff Shaw

sml_gallery_33839_667_70284.png

It is hard to believe 3 months have gone by already since our official launch. I would like to take this opportunity to provide a brief update about what has been happening in our community over the last 3 months as well as some of the exciting upcoming events we have planned.

We began working on the creation of our community in March of 2012, and spent many months creating and implementing the infrastructure to support our operations. From the website, to the a Teamspeak server, to policy manuals, cars, uniforms, and what seemed like a never ending list of tasks to complete, we finally celebrated our Official Launch on June 30th, 2012. On Launch Day, we started out with just 3 members (the staff) and as of October 1, 2012, we have accepted 23 new members to the Harbor County Community and continue to receive new applications every week.

Many projects are still in the works, including several new videos to share with the GTA community and various improvements and additions to the Harbor County world.

We also wish to extend congratulations to the following members for their recent promotions:

Deputy Shepard has been promoted to Master Deputy

Cadet Smith has been promoted to Probationary Deputy

Cadet Leinard has been promoted to Probationary Deputy

Cadet Shkreli has been promoted to Probationary Deputy

Cadet O’Conner has been promoted to Probationary Deputy

Cadet Boyd has been promoted to Probationary Deputy

(Below: Sheriff Shaw and Chief Deputy O'Neill pose with some of the newly promoted Deputies outside the joint use LCPD / HCSO Academy following the Promotion ceremony)

The last 3 months have gone by so quickly it almost seems surreal, but we are very glad to have each and ever one of our members. We are even more thankful for the excellent feedback and positive support we have received from the GTA Community as a whole, and the members of the LCPDFR community here. We are confident that Harbor County will have a very long and successful future in the world of GTA IV Role Play.

October Headlines

Drive Safe this Halloween

med_gallery_33839_667_578930.png

The members of the Harbor County Department of Public Safety wish to extend Happy Halloween wishes to all the residents of Liberty City. Please drive carefully this year, wear your seat belts, and remember to drink responsibly and designate a driver.

Last year on Halloween night in Liberty City there were 11 fatal car crashes with 13 fatalities, including 4 pedestrians that were struck by careless drivers. 2 of these fatal accidents were the result of drunk drivers. There were also 36 crashes with serious injuries.

The Deputies of the Harbor County Sheriff’s Office will be out enforcing the law with zero tolerance this Halloween to help keep everyone safe, so remember to click it or ticket and designate a driver.

Zero Tolerance Traffic Event on 10/21 at 8pm CST

med_gallery_33839_667_2193084.png

The HCSO will be having a zero tolerance traffic event on Sunday October 21st at 8pm Central time. All available Deputies are encouraged to go on duty and issue traffic citations with zero tolerance.

In 2011, throughout Liberty City and Harbor County there were a total of 66,428 traffic accidents. Of those, 344 were fatal accidents and 7,477 were serious injury accidents.

Based on the statistics from last year it is clear that the drivers of Liberty City need to be reminded to obey the traffic laws and drive safely. With the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays rapidly approaching, the HCDPS needs to send a message to drivers to slow down, and be careful.

Fleet Pass Weekend October 19th-21st

med_gallery_33839_667_344398.png

Fleet Pass is one of Harbor County's monthly events. During Fleet Pass weekends, our normal fleet restrictions are lifted and our members are free to operate whichever vehicles from our fleet they desire. This month's Fleet Pass event has been scheduled to coincide with our Zero Tolerance Traffic event.

Holiday Zero Tolerance

med_gallery_33839_667_1993593.png

As the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holiday season approaches, the Harbor County DPS wants to remind all Liberty City residents to enjoy their holiday safely. Sheriff Shaw and the rest of the HCSO will be working over the holidays, and starting October 19th they will resume their regular "Click it or Ticket" and "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" advertising campaigns around Liberty City. This year's focus also includes emphasis on underage drinking.

sml_gallery_33839_667_1079514.png

HCSO Deputies will be enforcing these laws with a zero tolerance policy so remember, designate a driver to get you home safely and whether you're in the front seat or the back, every ride, every time, click it or ticket.

Closing Comments

In closing, let me again say that we greatly appreciate the response we have received from the GTA Community as a whole, and in particular the staff and the entire team behind the LCPDFR mod and this website. To the LCPDFR team, and all the other modders in the community, It is our distinct pleasure to give the users of your amazing work a common place to meet, play, and enjoy your efforts.

We look forward to having a bright future in the GTA world, and in continuing to bring realistic role play to a new level.

Hello Bossnix,

This is caused by Google Chrome being over paranoid when it comes to SSL uses.

For a temporary fix, please click on the shield in the upper right portion of the url/address bar and click "Load anyway".

Google Support Topic on this issue:

http://support.googl...&answer=1342714

Summary: This page loads a few files that are not from a secure (ssl) and could possibly be intercepted (as with any http:// transmission). So for your protection, if you were on a financial web site, Google Chrome wants to protect you by blocking the page. In this case it is being over paranoid and is nothing to worry about. All data that you transmit (name, e-mail, and other info) is transmitted to the site via SSL. Which meaning that it is harder for a middle man to capture any of the data.

Anyways, I hope this helps.

Thank for your interest in our community and for your understanding in this matter.

Ive roleplayed in many clans on PS3. I have one question: For some reason my GFWL says I do not have internet connection even though I can exit the game and open the internet. Can I apply and have the issue solved in the clan or should I contact one of you guys before applying to try to solve it??

I would love to apply, I just need that fixed. :D

The only position that does not require a functional copy of GTA IV is Public Safety Dispatcher.

We do provide limited technical support for our members, but in all honesty none of us have ever heard of or encountered the issue you are describing so we wouldn't be able to help you fix it.

Hi,

I'm slightly confused. I'm am not in any other clans at the moment but have been in a few before, I live in Australia and due to the time difference I will most likely not be able to attend every patrol you guys have running so would I select Full Time or Reserve if I decide to join?

Can i rejoin? my game now works. I still have access to the website I tried getting on teamspeak

but the password was changed or deleted. It only took 4 months for the game to finally let me play online

still can't figure what the problem was.

If you are not currently a member with any other GTA IV communities, I would reccomend you apply or a full time membership. If you deicde to join another GTA IV community in the future, you can always transfer to a Reserve membership with Harbor County.

The reserve program is designed to allow our memebrs to also be members in another community and be active with both at the same time. We realize that there is no magic one size fits all place when it comes to gaming communities. However, we do feel that some aspects of our community may interest you, while you may also be interested in something another community has to offer. So, Reserve members are allowed to be part of Harbor County while remaining an active member in another GTA IV community.

I'll get you an email shortly with the new information.

Please note:

Due to new regulations, the clans main advertising post has been moved to this thread:

Future applications and discussion of this clan are to continue on their website.

Nothing to see here!
