Why no more non-els vehicles as compared to els?

That's more nitpicking and personal experience.  The only audio from ELS I hate is the little clicking when your lights are on.  Other than that, takedowns and scene lighting have worked flawless for me.

The beeps, yes. The rest, no. They're functions that should work and don't. As for the TDs and SLs, those work for you on a user standpoint. On a developer standpoint, it's horrible. Sometimes on an occasional export, it'll do it flawlessly, most of the time it just shines in the opposite direction no matter what positioning you do. As for the scenelights, they only work in a 360 radial degree as the "side only" is broken.

No sir, ELS's system is quite different from the original lighting. Original lighting vehicles (that aren't lore) would require an edited carcols.ymt which can get really messy depending on the amount

  • ELS vehicles are easier to do because you don't have to worry about carcols and making certain lights do certain things.  Plus, ELS is way better than non-els unless you are on FiveM and you like havi

  • els is just better in every way from takedowns to environment lighting and cars moving out of the way when you honk your horn,  its the same with iv not many people care about non els

you forgot to mention extra_ten not working on ai.

also idk what u mean by 360°, scene lights work as they should for me.

best way to describe els is it unfinished and/or there is missing documentation for developers.

yes, scenes only light up the sides

If you set them to. Default comes as 360.

You've used the side only function and it works fine?

If you setup the dummies correctly the alley lights function just fine.

if you like that car/design @NeOnLaZeR released an els version of the same tahoe http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/17270-2013-tahoe-kershaw-county/

Yeah I saw that. I really like the specific light setup on Gump's version. I am not a fan of the way the extras are mapped with the ELS version. :\ I'm picky in that aspect.

Original lighting vehicles (that aren't lore) would require an edited carcols.ymt which can get really messy depending on the amount of car mods you're using. Carcols however, is a great use for rotary lighting and my vehicles. I include it with my ELS vehicles to show for what ELS lacks.

^It's also a much easier system to utilize and requires a lot less confusion and clutter. Although the environmental lighting ELS is quite poor, I prefer to use ELS for the extras, and carcols.ymt for coronas and lighting effects.

Agreed. After doing this on the HCSO pack and my Spartan Furion, I have found that I love using the carcols to control the enviromental lighting.

Hello,

I am a person who uses non-els cars over els cars. I see the value of els and respect it but I also see the value of non-els equivalent vehicles and I just wondering why car creators have simply chosen to make els vehicles the preferred type of vehicle made over the stock lighting version of mod vehicles? I mean I do not have a problem with people making els over non-els this is just a thing that has been pondering my mind for a long time ever since els has been released.

Hi, my name is thecove and I am a non-els holdout....

This was a great discussion. I read through the chain and nice to see some of the model makers on here discussing the pros and cons of ELS.

If any of you have read my reviews / comments, I follow the KISS philosophy when modding my game, (Keep It Simple Stupid). I really take my time before adding a mod to my game, reading reviews, comments and watching YouTubers use the mods before I add anything to my game. When ELS first released, I saw some of the things mentioned above that I wasn't ready to deal with so that kept me from being an early adopter.

And this is probably a big reason why I'm hesitant to change my fleet to ELS. I've painstakingly pieced together my fleets : model by model, skin by skin, meta by meta; department by department : LSPD (city), SAHP (state) and LSCS (full map is county). With the help of the some of the larger skin packs, each department is uniform and it really helps the immersion in my mind.  I'm just not ready to start over.

And having just added EUP to my game, I'm having a blast creating different characters in various levels of their careers and RPing through that.

I've got my game in a good spot, able to get 2+ hr sessions in until good old GTA memory suck begins to drop frames and create terrible draw in distance.

But I completely agree with an earlier post that there is still a lot of non-ELS choice out there, in fact I upgraded my FPIU fleet to Hurks 2016 FPIU pack the other day (it took a little trouble shooting to get right.

At some point, I will convert, no-doubt because there are things I want in my game, especially environment lighting and control of  light patterns.

That's the beauty of modding, you tune your game to your tastes.

Great topic.
