Paperwork++ - Service Closed

Featured Replies

Paperwork++

Major service update.

As it stands, support for the Paperwork++ has been closed. The program was near completion but was poorly developed and unfortunately was somewhat clunky. As of now (22/07/2018), the hosting service for Paperwork++ has been cancelled.

What now?

I've currently got a new job as a full-time software developer working with various frameworks and such. (For the programmers among you, I'm planning on using the Laravel framework). Using the skills that I'm developing at work, I'm looking to create something called the "Paper Suite". This project is going to widen the scope of the Paperwork projects. Rather than focusing on just tickets and reports, it'll also look at having a core system of community management.

This will include things like user management (setting ranks and departments etc), a basic announce board, a file host for any custom mods that are required. Once I've established the core of the project, I will be opening a forum post to take feature requests.

The aim: to make the best damn community manager out there.

The cost: as little as possible (hopefully free, but it depends on the amount of resources that I'll need.

If you signed up to the site, all of your personal data (incl. passwords etc.) has been wiped.

Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer!

  • Cannot wait for this! Brings a lot more realism into the game, in such as not shooting everyone that is a threat, but going for a less lethal method to get that arrest!

Paperwork Plus has been one of my favorite mods in terms of roleplay.  I do admit that it got a bit tedious trying to fill everything out after an entire play session.  Recording my gameplay helped, but for things such as time of arrest, it was a tad bit more difficult.  I'm really looking forward to the future of this project and seeing where it goes.  Per the game integration, I give you props if you somehow figure a way to integrate it.   That seems like a daunting task.

    • Quicker registration times; Apologies for those who has to wait in 1.6! Now, following web standards, registrations are quick and smooth and require no input from me! (2.0)

What about those of us that had an account already?  Will those be deleted, or merged into Paperwork++?

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

Hi Rourke,

I'm really glad you're enjoying PaperworkPlus, it honestly does so much for me (and my ego ;D )! I do agree that the method of filling in time was tricky, especially when it may even be hours down the line from the event itself! I'm hoping that I have an idea in mind to try work around this situation and perhaps modify it.

As for the situation with accounts, I'm hoping to transfer all existing accounts (literally just over 100). If this is going to be a possibility, I will mail those who signed up with their new account information and a temporary password.

In terms of the logs and tickets, I am yet undecided as to what I would like to do with them, or whether it will be possible to migrate the data (I'm using a new database service and will most likely remodel the data structure).

I realize this is a late response to this topic, but I am super curious as to if there are any more updates to this, or maybe somewhere to follow and see updates for this project. I currently run a Towing Service in a GTA RP server, and have been trying to find an easy to use dispatch system to utilize for the company, and this looks like it could be it! Would love to see this come to life!

Hey Sgt! Just wondering, is it possible to download PaperworkPlus 1.6 and still use it in it's current form. Or are account creations currently suspended?

January 2018 Development Update

First of all, thank you all so much for your patience. Paperwork++ is currently being used as an academic project, and is taking a little longer than expected due to personal time constraints! Where are we at with Paperwork++?

  • Paperwork++ is expected to be fully completed in the next few months, up to 2.0. Development will continue fairly steadily, updating and patching any issues that arise, as well as working on new versions.
  • I'm onto the bulk of the operation, the report processing elements. For the sake of simplicity (instead of having a million buttons to press like in PaperworkPlus), all submissions have been filtered into either tickets, or reports. Tickets include any infraction (fine) that is applied. Reports include any kind of information that has to be submitted internally to the department.
  • I'm working on pulling together a well packed San Andreas Penal Code. I know that we had a handful of basic offences included in the final version of PaperworkPlus, but based on feedback it was clear that it should either be all or nothing. So that you needn't learn a whole penal code, wherever a violation is selected for ticket or report, the definition and penalty of the violation is displayed.
  • In terms of community usage, this area of Paperwork++ will be worked on for the 2.1 release. The idea will be that communities will have their own sub-domain, their own member list and manager, and their own Penal Code set, and so much more!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me via the email addresses listed on the main post! Thanks very much and bye for now!

February 2018 Development Update

Hello! I hope you're all well! Here is an update of the progress made! You might've noticed me adding a little progress bar to the front page. Right now its sat at 60%! I've made a ton of progress with this project, specifically with the back end. I've been struggling to find the time, but now I've got some more dedicated slots, things should pick up rapidly.

  • Currently, the ticketing system is up and running, its super easy to make, update, view, lookup tickets!
  • The persona system is in place. It'll show you a little business card at the top of the page, showing off your department logo, name, rank, division, agency, etc! My plan is to work on this feature after release so that you guys can have multiple personas, as well as making the system look a little cleaner!
  • The statistics element is starting to come together also, and although they're all outputting very low numbers, I expect them to pick up once you guys get submitting reports!
  • In terms of Help and Support, a forum has been established for requests and suggestions, as well as support. This forum is currently in maintenance mode until product release, but may also host a forum for a small gaming community.
  • As the release is getting nearer and nearer, I'm looking for BETA testers! Part of being a tester is taking a week to play around with the project, see what you can do with it, what works, what doesn't, what you'd suggest for the next version. If you're interested in testing, contact me at development@paperworkplus.net - I'll be mass mailing everyone who already holds an account soon with details.
  • In terms of legality: In May 2018, EU law will bring into force a piece of legislation called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which honestly looks amazing. In the coming months I'll be reforming privacy policy, as well as sections where you can request any information about data we hold about you, etc. I will also be changing the terms and condition into Layman's terms and remove the legalese nature of it. If you have any questions relating to the GDPR, please let me know at development@paperworkplus.net

Any further questions or queries? Let me know! See you soon!

March 2018 Development Update

Welcome back to another Paperwork++ update log, this time for the end of March! Paperwork++ has been a little messy leading up the pas couple of weeks, but its all started coming together nicely, with all the various systems and subroutines falling into place.

  • Ticketing - Ticketing hasn't been touched since the last update, its complete for now.
  • Reporting - Reporting hasn't been touched since the last update, its complete for now.
  • MDC - The MDC system has been implemented, you can now lookup names and view all associated reports and tickets with that person. All that's left is to implement a small statistics script and apply the same sort of thing to vehicles.
  • Personas - The persona system is finished for now, all that's left to include is the ability to view other people's personas, which will be nice and easy to implement between now and this weekend (see the Beta section).
  • Statistics - Statistics are found is various places around the site and feed live information each time the page is refreshed. For example, right now we've got 179 users!
  • Penal Code - The first four sections of the San Andreas Penal Code has been written, but will need completing before release. There will be a page which allows users to view the full penal code and various definitions for crimes etc. This will not be included in the Beta release.
  • Help & Support - The forums have been set up for Paperwork++, as well as the Beta section. These forums will most likely host a gaming community in the near future!
  • SSL! - Paperwork++ and its subdomains now have an SSL certificate and now enforce the usage of HTTPS, which uses "Transport Security Layer" (previously Secure Socket Layer) encryption to keep your data more secure!
  • Beta Testing - The previous update log included information about showing interest in the upcoming Beta Programme, as of right now, the programme is open and you can sign up to be a tester by following the instructions on this post!
Terms and Conditions - It was noted in the previous update log that there would be some reform surrounding the Terms and Conditions, which has now taken place. All users who were registered with the old terms and conditions have been emailed with the updated file!

More information about previous updates are available here. I'm aware that there may be a few contradictions, but please follow the most recent posts (this one), this is down to me wanting to get Paperwork++ released and accessible as soon as possible!

Any questions? Go ahead and ask below! This topic will remain a sticky for 15 days, or when the next update information is released.
