its the end of an era whether we do or not.

The only thing that's changed is the development of Open IV, the LC map conversion, the RDR map conversion, and animation editing.

Petitions do nothing. You aren't going to win over a multi-million dollar company.   What you people need to be petitioning is having the retards over at OpenIV stop forcing users to uninsta

I believe that the LC map project played a big part in this whole drama. Importing maps from GTA IV, even though it would have required a legal copy of IV installed on the user's end, is quite the legal landmine that the Red Dead map stepped on. I wonder what kind of mods would have been possible with animation editing? importing animations from IV, that sort of thing? it looks unlikely that we'll ever get to that stage now, but unless the tool source code is leaked for other developers we can dream. Hopefully the community backlash and petition making the news will make T2 stand down and rescind their demands, but the future looks bleak for further developments of what the community can do with the game. Makes me wonder why Rockstar can't just make the singleplayer and Online directories separate for future games and go down the Bethesda route with an official curated singleplayer workshop.

I would love to see a example of this. Also doesn't OpenIV just allow for people to edit models or textures of the game, so with that how/why could it interfere with Online?

PC Gamer updated again noting that petition was now over 50,000 and Steam Reviews had hit "Overwhelmingly Negative" last 30 days and "Mixed" for the first time ever.

If anything is going to succeed (maybe there is still hope) it's that the pressure is kept on and they are made to look such a big bully and creative crusher that it might get to a point where the negative publicity bends them. I know from the discussions over at steam several "fan boys" are complaining about the complaining. I also have seen some of those knuckleheads who actually think that they are going to see a decline in the hacking and cheating.....good luck with that. At some point they too might realize what a sham it was, and their lives are no better.

And so it comes to an end... Rest in Peace Ripperonis all those lovely car mod's, ELS and all the cool fun stuff. Sure the older modders who still have Open IV can install these, but once they leave, the younger modders will have nothing but the basic GTA Cop cars, where let's face it, we get fairly bored of after hours of driving around with them.

Then comes those who cannot download the latest and greatest EUP, where they cannot install automatically. Or even, for those who don't fancy the EUP, will move along to the ped section, where they will scroll through countless pages for the perfect pack.

It's a true shame, and I know everyone else agrees.

So a little message for Take Two.

They went too far on this one.

Just stop already.

I find it ridiculous how T2 thinks OpenIV is solely used to mod multiplayer... you can't even access multiplayer with your game fully modded. It just goes to show you they didn't do any research.

If he has any bit of a brain, he'd know nothing is affected. You can still mod the game, although we're just waiting on a ScriptHook update to get things back and running.

I still play mine just fine, as of last night. Even added more mods. But I'm amazed at how many people have signed this petition. Last time I checked it, there were about 20k

I know right, too much people thinking that modding is coming to an end even though it isn't.

and yeah the petition is doing great, beating all the families that want someone to stay in a country ^^

Ladies.

OpenIV is officially back. Rockstar Games has contacted OpenIV and I believe the C&D has been reversed. An update has gone out to users that have OpenIV and the "Uninstall Later, Uninstall Now" option has been removed! We've done it.
