We'll be closing the application forms to join the team on Monday.  Far more applications than we anticipated were received, so it may take a little time to look through them all, but we hope to start contacting people by the end of next week.

I'm back from Fort Lost in the Woods, Misery. Gonna try to ease back into zmodeler (again 5 months) by improving Hurks Tahoe. I was working on the interior last time. Redoing the radio, ac, and other shit.

With all the talk about LSPDFR 0.4, it's been a little while since we've provided a general update on our community.  Of course, LSPDFR 0.4 is our main priority at the moment and we'll have more to say about it shortly, but we thought it important to also address and announce a couple of things regarding our community.

    What our Community stands for

Before anything else, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on who we are, as people that run this website, and as a community.

LCPDFR was founded, back in 2009, simply because I thought it'd be a fun thing to do.  To play as the police in GTA IV.  It was an idea, ambitious for its time, and nothing more.  I worked on LCPDFR because it was fun, I published it because I thought others might also enjoy it.  LCPDFR has come a long way since then, it has evolved from one person's topic on a forum, to its own website, to its own forum, to its own community.  We've spanned two games, our reach has grown massively, our community is approaching 300,000 registered members.  The amount of work that goes into developing LSPDFR alone is staggering - the time that we've spent on it is measured not in days, weeks or months, but years.  Likewise, the effort required to keep our website online is vastly underestimated - in the past month we've served around 30 terabytes of download traffic alone, and have done all of this despite persistent, targeted denial of service and hacking attacks against us.  To put this in context, if you were to serve 30 terabytes of data through Amazon Web Services, it'd cost you $3,000 a month - and that's just one month of download traffic.

Why do we do this?  Because it's fun.  We love developing our community, we love developing our mod, and we love that other people - complete strangers, from all over the world, from countries you've probably never heard of, from all walks of life... we love that they love LSPDFR.  Our community has achieved incredible things: we've created an entire gaming phenomenon and we've developed things that nobody ever thought would be possible.  Our members have done more than simply play games or make mods: we've fought hand-in-hand against corporate giants (and won), we've transformed peoples' entire lives by sparking new careers and we've been covered everywhere from massive YouTube channels to mainstream media publications.  Heck, we've even triggered out of touch government ministers in Australia.

That's not the whole story, though.  Sometimes we are the story.  Sometimes we make mistakes.  We've had catastrophes, like the time where we had a hyped countdown on the website only to reveal a private testing version of LCPDFR that nobody could access.   Our first ever livestream had to be rescued by Steve and Jeff after it started with Prophet driving a train around Los Santos and infamously stating "this is not the preview for LSPDFR 0.3" while our community manager could do nothing but watch helplessly after being accidentally disconnected.  We've messed up releases, we've announced things too quickly, and sometimes we've not announced things at all.

Yet, despite all of this.  Nine years later, we're still here.  We're still making mods, we're still developing this community, and we've stuck true to our principles the entire time:
Our community is open to all. We treat members equally regardless of their status. Everything is completely free of charge, with no catches.
Why?  It's not about fame, it's not about money, it's not about status.  It's about love.  We love LCPDFR, we love LSPDFR, and we love our community.  We don't think that modding should be hidden in private Discord servers.  We don't think that modding should be something people pay for.  We don't think that modding should be an ego boost.

We just think that modding should be fun.  It should be open, and it should be free.  That's what we stand for, and that's what we do.

    How you can get involved

Last year, we opened up applications to join our Community Team for the first time.  This resulted in a couple of new faces joining our moderation team and upon reflection, we think it's a good change in approach from previously handpicking staff members ourselves.  We've decided to open these applications again, and would invite anyone who is interested in volunteering some of their free time to moderating our community to apply by following the link below.  Our volunteer Community Moderators are a vital part of everything that we do, and it wouldn't be possible to maintain the community without them.

I think you all need to grow the fuck up! This shit is ridiculous, these are cars for a fucking “video game.” Also this is a “work room” which means a work in progress and not finished. As a YouTuber myself I love you guys cars with out you guys I wouldn’t have anything to do, but I will say this @t0y you make amazing models but coming in here and pointing out inaccuracies it the manner in which you did is rude. At no time in this thread did Walters day he was done with them. Just because you live in NY don’t make you the God of the city! So come in here with an arrogant attitude and belittle him in a public forum shows your true colors. Like I said I love your work and I respect it, but your actions here are childish and uncalled for. It would have been perfectly acceptable to come in here nicely and contribute good information and good constructive criticism, instead you acted a complete fool.  @Walters firing back like you did also shows an immaturity in this. Be the bigger man when this happens, walk away, to go back and fourth with each other in a public and open forum just shows the community what’s really in the back ground. At the end of the day we all know that there is not 100% in modding. But when you guys go at it like you have it ruins it for the rest of us. I like all y’all work and I hope this gets settled or worked out in some way. @Walters the progress looks great and I can’t wait to use them and the Seattle cars. T0y just let it go you do your thing and let’s show the community what your all made of so we can all enjoy the game with out this bullshit!

I'm sorry to hop in here when I don't have any room to, but the fact a bunch of young ADULTS are in here arguing about cars for a game is pretty pathetic. You then, have the people who take the sides of their friend, and like their post on this forum as if that's even needed. How about instead of arguing you two settle this bullshit and get back to whatever it is you guys do. Seriously, this is why the community here is so shit! IT'S A GAME; a G A M E. To t0y: I love your mods and what not, but if you're making your own NYPD pack, stay the fuck off here and go make yours, as it'll obviously be much better than this by your comments. To Walters: If your pictures here are a work in progress and not by any means completed work, why are you commenting to what anyone says about your work? You're basically instigating an argument and if this is what's gonna happen, then you two take this horse shit to DMs. I don't mean to try and sound rude by either party here but this is actually bullshit-- REGARDLESS OF WHO IS IN THE RIGHT/WRONG!

Just because something has "dick" in it doesn't make it immature, I don't know who told you that. And please dont preach about immaturity to me. You're the guy who has refused to make up with anyone that you dislike or be the bigger person in any situation, sure that's your choice to ignore any type of "truce" but that takes your right away to whine about immaturity. And are you telling me that it's harder to make accurate cars when you dont live somewhere? Because that isn't what you seemed to think when you and your friends were complaining about my RCMP (by the way they do use that rear bar lol.) Anyway, to put this little tussle to an end, fix these insane inaccuracies and you won't hear from me, but keep complaining about my inaccuracies while still having a pathetic excuse for NYPD and I'll be all over this thread.

If you want me to be more specific:
    - Add ballistic panels on the front doors of the car
    - Add interior 10-52, on duty, etc. stickers to the dashboard
    - Add interior ballistic/bulletproof glass windows
    - Depending on the car you need to just redo every interior, I'd be more specific about that but I'd be doing all the work for you

You can't possibly think that's how these things are supposed to be mounted: A laptop on a stick welded to the center console? Really? Floating siren controllers? A triangle wedge for the siren controller in the Impala? This aint it.

This may be hard to grasp from an outside point of view, which I understand but trust me I've tried to be more constructive about it. I've PMd walter multiple times over the course of several weeks, I've told him in servers many times both before and after he decided to edit his NYPD, and so has many other people he just refuses to listen or acknowledge it because he can't take the ego hit. As much as I hate arguing in public with people, he just won't respond to anyone's private messages so this is what it has become.

Not to argue, because I understand you don't want this to boil down into a heated argument but, well you're missing the point. I don't live on this site, and while I do hate to see NYPD disrespected like this, I don't care all that much about walter and you and desk jets. I'm pointing out walter's hypocrisies. He preaches maturity and accuracy, but can't for the life of him do either. These are inaccurate, and poorly made NYPD cars, he's immature and cannot take constructive criticism to the point where I just need to lay it all out. He does have all the resources short of living in NYC, he is just too lazy to use them.

Okay, okay, let's not prolong this little...

    "dispute"...

for any longer than it needs to be.

Just... talk like you're talking, not like you're both in a heated argument.

t0y, your first comment on the thread was kinda rude (a facepalm emoji? Really?), and while I do understand the initial gesture was likely intended as a piece of constructive criticism, by simply saying "hey, fix ballistic plates, glass and interiors" without actually saying how to do that or approaching him in, say, private DMs, you've morphed it from constructive criticism to just... criticism for the sake of criticism.

Also, by engaging him in a public development thread, you've made the worst side of both your own and Walters' personalities visible for the entire community to see.

Walters, while I do understand the stress of creating models and the toll that has likely taken on you, and while I also appreciate the great modelling work you can do, swinging back is never the correct solution.

I should know, gotten into plenty of arguments where I end up escalating the situation by swinging back with my own punches.

I hate having to attempt the negotiator role in this situation, and there is a possibility that what I've typed will possibly continue escalating the situation, but I also hate watching threads devolve into flame wars.

I also hate having to tell two of my favorite content creators in the community to chill the f*ck out and stand down, but, unfortunately, this situation has devolved to that point.
