As of 2018 Baltimore police still has one 98 vic rolling around. Its apparently an unaccounted for unit used by some maintenance guy. its grey because its a retired housing pd unit remarked by the city police. in 2013 i saw a 97 vic go by and if can can remember straight it was last seen in 2016 and several 97 vic were retired in 2016 along with some 95 mustangs

Wow, I think I saw the last one (or a similar one) parked at East Fayette, a traffic enforcement unit as well. Gotta look through my archives, maybe I took its picture.

Actually, 8 years ago there were a lot of Crownvics used by the BPD as Accident Investigation units. And then there were of course the MDTA police (yep, quality sucks)

  • Was thinking the same thing!   Looks like this one is still in service in one of our distant towns! I hear that officers who tried one of those would choose that old US frame-based sedan ove

Since we've got a few Japanese police cars here, the R34 is still in service as of December 2016.

Oldest I've seen recently was a 1991-1992 Fire Marshal still in service. I didn't get a chance to snap a picture as he was going by me.   Oldest in police terms, LA Sheriff has loads of 1998

the last time i remember seeing a white BPD vic was around two years ago and it was broken down on the side of the road. here is an interesting vid i found online. an 80s chevy truck retired in 3013 from nypd

Sorry for interrupting the US show 😉

Near my city is one of the states police schools. Usually, a lot of unmarked cars (service vehicles) and police buses are driving around, but sometimes you will actually see an old vehicle that they are using (at least that is what I am assuming) for training purposes. Like this older BMW.

Google "Ford Mustang SSP" and you will find so many documents on restoring these 1990 police cars. It has turned into a hobby for many hobbiests.

As for the one active, it is rumored they still exists on active duty (the CHP might still use them as EVOC training vehicles). The Nebraska State Police might still have one that is untouched.

1995 Caprice was in service as of 2016. Not sure if they still use it but it would be cool as hell if they did.

I haven't seen it at all, but I suppose it could be right place wrong time kinda stuff.

I really like the livery design.  The green and gray-ish silver work well together.  Light bar seems a tad too big. 😂

Sorry for reviving a dead topic but I got to put in my take;

In my department they still have an 88 Ford Crown LTD (reserve), 1 95 Caprice (reserve) 9C1, 2 97 Crown Vic's (1 reserve other patrolling) the 97 Crown Vic which is patrolling has 320,000 miles. It's going to reserve by 2020.

Im interested in this issue and have done many hours of research into this. So if you want some information about departments I have found just reply.

Please Clap...

Gotta be the Caprice or Crown Vic's right?. Where I am in Upstate NY all the State Police have Explorers and Challengers or w/e. And the local PD have the taurus and explorers. Occasionally I will see a State Trooper with a Crown Vic. But it's REALLY rare. That really makes me think anything older than a Caprice would probably be all decommissioned and off the road by now. I watched this show way back when where some constable in Kentucky had a Gremlin with a custom light setup, was so funny and awesome lol.

Where I am it's a very Rural area, the mayor funds the police department which is much less than New York, but we do mostly have 03 - 08 Crown Vics, They we're donated from an neighbouring county back in 2011.

The last transition/replacing of cars by the department itself was 2004, at that time the department still ran an Aspen near the town hall. They had to push to start it.

I said above about what the oldest car in my department and to my research it's not that unique.

Many departments I have contacted whom gave me information still have older cars, The NOPD for example still had 97 Crown Vic's the last I heard. Kansas City KS still had a 1985 Caprice until 08, I heard from some that they may still have 9C1's still patrolling.

Some departments in Alaska, (Sitka) most notably still have Caprice's as reserves and 97 Crown Vic's and in ND one department has an 87 Crown Vic still in Use. I read a blog of someone whom took a picture in 2009 of a cop in an 1983 Caprice in ND. Western Montana a few departments still have 97 Crown Vic's that are patrolling.

Furthermore In New Jersey, the state with many counties, Newark, Ocean Beach are some of the counties that still use 97 Crown Vic's and Im pretty sure in Newark One detective car is an 9C1 Caprice. But that was in 2017 so it could have changed.

I went up to Maine in 2016 an I saw a few 9C1 Caprice's Parked in Front of an department with a few 95 - 97 Crown Vic's as well. Government Fleet is a good website to start off some research on the topic.

Honolulu, Hawaii in 2015 Bought more cars to replace some of their fleet in which has not been upgraded since 2005, many of the cars were still 95 - 97 Crown Vic's.

Departments in Texas have been older Cars as well some of them still run 97 Crown Vic's I heard in the Rural parts. One department had to resort buying an Uber used car for their fleet. It had 320k miles on it.

People whole live in those areas are more Happy to correct me on that.

Old Land Rover Defender 110

Otokar produced Defender 110 under license, starting in 1987 and until the original production was completed. This vehicle, which was supplied in large numbers to law enforcement, is still used mainly by special operations teams today.

Hey, just checked this topic again now. All of that is so crazy!

You might be interested to see this listing from late 2018.

https://www.auctionsinternational.com/auction/16233/item/1985-chevrolet-caprice-sedan-99961

Seems to have been in service right up until it was sold. This absolutely has to take the cake for the oldest anywhere.

As for the oldest now, there are at least three Caprices still around in Illinois at least in various roles.

1. Last I checked, McHenry County still has one.

2. There's a whale Caprice still in Waterman. (Taken 2019)

Waterman Police Department Chevy Caprice

3. Niles also has one Caprice left, in public works service.

There's a box Crown Vic (a 1991, more specifically) in Tiburon, California.

https://www.google.com/maps/@37.8819605,-122.4662822,3a,25.6y,179.41h,69.57t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sNydl3FUwcgfRziUm-TwQaw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

The paint is pretty trashed, but is otherwise in good shape.

It's weird, because they don't seem underfunded. They have new Chargers and Tauruses, so I'm not sure what the deal is with this. It can't be a show car if they're leaving it out in the elements. It's gotta be some sort of traffic unit. Could be like a chief's car as well.

There's a Caprice still in Nassau County, NY as well. This is still in service.

Nassau County Police Department

Lastly, there's an Aero Crown Vic with the San Francisco Sheriff's Department.

San Francisco Sheriff's Department & San Francisco Police Department
