Repuration abuse - Split from TyMeLeSs Siren Productions

Featured Replies

What do you mean? I didn't -1 him. Someone else did. So I +1 him. To even it.

Yeah, it could be classed as REP boosting as there are people out there who deserve a -1 and get it but then get all their mates to give them +1 to "Even it"... To keep consistent on the forums, they have to apply the rules to everyone so that kinda includes us believe it or not :)

Anyway, I appreciate what you did, but I think it's better next time to leave it for the sake of saving your own bacon.

Cheers

  • No Tom, even if I had 9000 points I would not care. I don't live my life looking for the approval of others. Sorry.

Yeah, but there was no reason, which is required for a -1.

People are allowed to cast reputation as they please, we only take action when the reputation is given out by one member to another in a co-ordinated or otherwise organized way, I.E. mass down-voting or up-voting posts by one member in order to either "get back" or as a "you rep me, I rep you" scheme, the ultimate sanctions being banishment. It's also not allowed for users to "rectify" reputation given, it's also regarded as rep abusing.

Huh?

I don't understand what you mean. Tom was down voted with no reason at all, and I don't think that was very fair. It had no reason and/or comment, therefore shouldn't be fair. But, I may be misunderstanding. So don't yell at me for it, I just don't understand.

Reputation is an opinion about that member's posts or doings, get over it.

If another member gives a -1, that, unless it is spammed/a rep abuse itself, is to be taken as is. If you upvote that post, just for the simple cause of bringing the post back to 0, it is considered rep-abuse; as you only voted to save the poster from a negative rep. Is that clear?

Due to the graphic nature of this post, reader discretion is advised.

Reputation issues again? I can see staff getting pissed off and just removing it.. it would put an end to the headache and the ridiculous bantering and spamming, i finally have 122 REP, i'd like to keep it, but damn.......

If you got a -1, someone either A) didn't like your comment or B) a spammer, however, the staff probably already know's.

It's not reporting any issues, or comes with suggestions, however it's related to the website, it's a grey area, however two moderators already posted in it, so we'd have caught it and moved it.

It was actually split from a different thread, but started to take over the discussion in that thread, so it was split.

Yet more evidence that the whole rep system is a bad idea. How many more of these threads are we going to see I wonder?

In the meantime, calm down. It's just a number that doesn't mean anything. You guys realize that, right?
