That actually sounds like a better use of space than just putting a laptop in.

CVPI's had the option for ballistic door panels. Aftermarket for sure, I think from the factory on the later models as well, but I'm not 100% on that.

Definitively a good thing! I remember sitting and watching training videos where they would shoot car doors with a .22 LR pistol and it would go completely through (of course there's always a chance it hits a cross support) but it was "eye opening" to say the least!

The Lowell MA Police have been using a new Caprice for the past year. It is currently part of the Traffic Enforcement Division.

I've seen that car around, actually. I live pretty near Lowell, MA now. Not exactly my favorite town. Anyway towns like Lowell, Lawrence, Lynn, Revere, etc could all use this new equipment to their advantage, and hopefully help clean up the streets. These towns have really transformed over the last 30 years from what I hear.

The downside of ballistic doors seems to be that it makes the handling suck, because of the added weight.
