@joe25@TrooperTom and everyone else who has noticed the white cars bug, I am happy to say that now it is fixed. I still have to fix it on every other vehicle except police4. But overall, the good news is, by the time the next update for B.E.L. comes out, your vehicles will be fixed. For those of you unaware of this bug, it would cause all of the vehicles effected by B.E.L. to have a white paint job with an ugly white pearlescent which would show through a vehicle's livery.

@straitdill Excellent news bud! I kinda got used to it over the past few weeks but i'm thrilled as fuck to hear about that update.

Is it somehow possible to add policeold1 & 2? I really appreciate all the effort you put into this mod Sir! Thanks so much!:thumbsup:

In an attempt to make the lights flashier, I guess, I made my own sequencer values and put them in B.E.L., they are very similar to the old ones, except there is a bigger gap of the lights being off in between flashes. Also turned up the speed of the pattern. Let me know what you all think of the new sequencers.

I think I found a rotary light pattern that I like and works. Since I have this part working, it should be in the next update for B.E.L.

B.E.L. just hit 10,000 downloads! Tbh when I released it I didn't expect it to even get half of that. And if you're wondering about B.E.L. 2.8, it's gonna be released, but motivation to work on it has decreased since the release of ELS and how fast people are making ELS vehicles. But don't worry version 2.8 will be released. However, it will probably be the last update for B.E.L.

I wouldn't stop work on BEL. one thing I noticed with the gta community is that a lot of people do not use els. expecially with the carcols and how default lighting is now, its one less script that can save on performance and issues in the long run. Myself, I use a mix of els and BEL. it all depends on the car to me, not the functionality. a lot of people including myself love BEL.

I agree with Night. Keep doing what you're doing, there is nothing wrong with giving people an ELS alternative. What you have planned with the rotators in the next release is something that I doubt ELS will even come close to being able to mimic. Plus, having a competitor in the lighting market forces both DEV's to step up their game with each release and fuel their creativity. You've already released a game-changer within the GTA V modding community, don't stop now

As for myself, I also use a mix of ELS and Non-ELS vehicles, roughly half and half. And that's with RDE installed, we're talking roughly fifty cars give or take, lol. (Yes, I replaced all the RDE cars.) But for those vehicles that don't have ELS, this is by far the best thing to ever happen to them. Personally, I love lightbars and anything to do with lighting patterns, so this mod is beyond beautiful to the core. I understand your reasoning for wanting to discontinue working on this post-2.8.0, however I do sincerely hope you'll reconsider it. I believe I speak for hundreds, if not thousands, when I say that I'd hate to see BEL go by the wayside.

Fun fact: ELS can be used with non-ELS vehicles. Well, at least the auxiliary coronas will work (e.g. indicators, brake lights and headlights) and frankly, they look much better than what carcols can do. When v2.8 comes out I'll include a couple basic ELS-VCF files that will give you wig wags and whatnot. And since every car is different, there will be a few options that vary a little like yellow back indicators/red back indicators etc... small stuff like that.

Also, I'm starting a new mod soon called BAL (not going to say what it stands for ;), you'll have to guess) and you will probably see a video or two on it soon. It's not going to be a big mod, it will just fix some small issues and I'm sure some people will like it. It doesn't have periods in it (BAL) because they're just too much work to type, especially on a phone.

I've been trying to get a video showcasing some changes with B.E.L. but unfortunately OBS studio has these huge frame rate drops for no reason. If you have any tips or a better (free) recording software, please let me know.

But don't worry, to put what I've done in words, I've been messing with some sequencer values and getting myself familiar with ELS-VCF's. Hopefully I will have a video out soon.

Close, but not quite. I'm not even sure if I will be able to successfully make this mod, so that's why I'm not announcing what the acronym stands for yet. And again, it's a small mod so I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.

BAL is going to stand for better automotive lighting.

What it will do is add coronas for rear and front indicators, increase the falloff distance of the light that protrudes from them and brake lights, and add a corona for the middle brake light. You're probably thinking that this is very much like what Bxbugs123 included with his Dodge Charger 1.4RX, and I'm not going to lie, it is, and I got the idea for this mod when using that. I'm trying to not use any of the same values, lines of text, etc. as him so there will be no issues concerning plagiarism. And just to be safe, I'll send him some lines of text from the mod (once it's ready for release) and see if everything is alright with them.

Unfortunately there are going to be some limitations with this mod. Since every vehicle is different, some having red rear indicators, some having amber, it would be a pain in the ass to pinpoint which vehicles use amber indicators and which ones don't. Also, a vehicle's default colors are in the carvariations (which is where the lightsettings are changed), so I'd have to see what colors are preset for each and every vehicle in the game, which would take forever. Basically, it's next to impossible for every vehicle to have the proper corona color in relation to it's indicator's texture. The good thing is that's the only problem with the mod I can think of.

Once I get OBS studio working, I'll put out a video of BAL and my progress with B.E.L.

still, if you know of a working fov mod for the latest version of GTA, please link me to it!

New video showing B.E.L. and BAL.

This video is more of just driving than anything, but the only way for me to efficiently show the turn signals is to just have people move over. As you may see, some cars don't have turn signals with coronas yet, they will be accounted for. Also when I use the brakes you'll see that the middle taillight has a corona. The B.E.L. part of this video is just the rotary lights.

Also sorry if BAL is looking kind of disappointing lol, it's not supposed to be a game changer like B.E.L., it just fixes a few things that bug me and probably a few other people.

Both of these will probably be released the same day.

Happy Valentine's Day!
