[Research/WIP] Custom Light Patterns through carcols.ymt

It's a cool concept, but CHP's patterns, IMO, are really stupid. Slow full-flash for a yelp? I don't like it.

Absolutely, I 100% agree! Both their flash patterns and siren tone speed are too slow, which I get/know is because of the CA Vehicle Code, but so many agencies already break the minor requirements like flash pattern/tone speed anyways.  I've always thought its weird that so many of these very specific things actually were dealt with and voted in by the legislature (I know all states legislate emergency vehicle requirements, but CA I've thought includes way more than anyone else).  The one law I'm glad we have here in CA is that Hi-Lo isn't CA legal (although LAFD I know for sure has some units with it, and probably other agencies too) - I'll end my nerdy rambling here

I've made a carcols a while back that just seems to work really well on pretty much any car you throw it on. Here's a demo of it on my Kansas cars, no edits were done to the cars.  If a

Phaser isn't legal either. The whole fucking state of California shouldn't be legal, frankly. Nevada does it right. See my video above. Slow wigwag for traffic stops, fast flash pattern for rolling code. It works.

More light patterns, this time FHP style:

I know it's kinda late, but how do you get your lights to fade in and out like that?

add a step of no lights in-between the red and blue, and it prevents them from blending into purple

We almost need to make a new topic to give a tutorial about this or something.

What exactly makes a siren rotate vs. flash?

For example I am trying to get my mx7000 to work in game and I am just lost. Can anyone help me set up these sirens?

@RoegonTV look for rotate value and flash value in each section. Turn rotate value to true and flash value to false. Also make sure that the facecamera value is also false.

Okay awesome. If you make those changes does it basically void the flashiness section?

Also have we determined how the delta start and speed work in the rotation section?

Honestly, default lighting is sufficient for these cars. If you want hyper-realism, you can throw in a slight latency between each wigwag, but I don't think this is entirely necessary.

Does anybody know if the sirens in @Thehurk's CHP pack are consistently numbered between vehicles? If so, has anybody made a realistic CHP pack for them? I might put something together at some point if nobody has yet.

The sirens are consistant throughout the pack, or at least they should be. I made this pack before the possibility of carcols.

How do I get my rotators to work slowly with a bpm of say 700 for the LEDs.

I turned off sync, and then they got all glitchy

Been trying to figure this out for a while also, but no luck.

EDIT: Any plausible solution to get unsynced coronas to work?

EDIT EDIT: I synced the rotators to bpm but I unsynced the led sirens to bpm in an attempt to see if they behave normally and they do not appear to.

I had my bpm at 140 for a good slow rotator, and i set the <flashiness> speed to 500 in an effort to counter the slower bpm but the leds are incredibly incredibly slow

Has anybody figured out how to get wigwagging reverse lights yet? In these videos it shows them, but I don't know if those are just sirens.

all you need to do is duplicate the lights, remove the light id's from them, rename them to a siren and then scale them down
