Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV\common\data

and open hud.dat with notepad

Find:

Spoiler

HUD_WEAPON_CROSSHAIR        0.5,0.5        0.020,0.027    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    200
HUD_WEAPON_HEALTH_TARGET    0.5,0.5        0.018,0.024    HUD_COLOUR_GREEN    225
HUD_WEAPON_ARMOUR_TARGET    0.5,0.5        0.014,0.018    HUD_COLOUR_BLUELIGHT    225
HUD_WEAPON_DOT            0.5,0.5        0.002,0.002    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    200

And replace it with this:

Spoiler

HUD_WEAPON_CROSSHAIR        0.5,0.5        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    0
HUD_WEAPON_HEALTH_TARGET    0.5,0.5        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_GREEN    0
HUD_WEAPON_ARMOUR_TARGET    0.5,0.5        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_BLUE        0
HUD_WEAPON_DOT            0.5,0.5        0.000,0.000    HUD_COLOUR_WHITE    0

Hope it works! Always backup files before editing them. As a side note, if you have lots of hard drive space I recommend backing up the whole GTAIV folder so you can access any file and not have to worry about backups :)

Enjoy :D

edit: many of us still play iv :D

I think he also meant to remove the whole reticule, he actually mentioned that he used a similar mod in his post, which unfortunately the mod itself doesn't really do.
