Will sports video games kill the acutal sport?

I think Sports video games are not as fun to watch like following a real sports team where you can buy a ticket to watch sports live, or watch sports live on TV. The interviews with sports players after their matches are sometimes entertaining to watch. You can also follow players on social networks like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Some players also interact with their fans on social networks, and fan meet ups or charity events like raising money for schools.

Some sports fans also like following sports because they find a player is attractive like David Beckham who has a lot of female fans who think he has nice looks, and is a interesting person.

What about genuine passion for the sport? I'm not really a fan of your typical football (read: soccer) or basketball types of sports, I'm more into sports like Judo and MMA.

The whole reason I train myself, spend time at the gym and then come home and watch it on TV is because I have a passion for the sport, it's part of who I am. That doesn't simply die out because of a video game. Nothing will beat the sensation of competing for real, or watching a good match between two top athletes.

Sure, a video game might be more appealing to kids and teenagers without much care for the actual sport, but from an actual participants perspective with genuine passion, not a chance in hell.

Plus there's also the whole fitness side of things...

Paying to replace your/someone's window is a lot cheaper than buying yourself/someone a new TV when that daft controller(Wii & PS) flies out of your hand.

Teens quickly learned to play while sitting down. So no fitness benefit for the lazy teen.

You are using the WRONG right theme!
