Project proposal for Automatic Pursuits

Featured Replies

Hello fellow officers, i just wanted to propose to the community that it would be very helpful if someone could develop a mod to fix those random auto pursuits that usually occurs in GTA V when a cop unit aggressively and recklessly pursuing some random ending up in shooting and killing which is totally unrealistic and definitely not legit, i think this is essential for the community to work on so that we would have the game much more fun and realistic! Thanks

To be honest, the only way this can be resolved is by the LSPDFR devs adding a simple RandomAmbientPursuitsEnabled=false option to the LSPDFR INI.

It should be a really easy thing to implement (it'd take like 5 minutes) so I assume it'll be in the next versionof LSPDFR, hopefully along with some further INI options.

Yes, I would love to at least reduce these random events, although I don't think they are LSPDFR-related rather to do with GTA's spawning or popcycle. I tried looking into the popcycle.dat but no luck.

Those random events are indeed GTAV related. Some scenario script they have makes officers in vehicles aggro on random vehicles at random times. Could also be related simply to relationship settings which cause the aggro after the officer is around a certain ped for too long.

A possible fix would be to start a pursuit on any ped that gets a cop aggro'd on them. That might cause issues in certain situations where large amounts of traffic just can't help knocking into them, especially if you aren't using Keep Calm, where you'd end up with a large amount of pursuits going on.

If the on topic guy is talking about officers randomly chasing a red blipped suspect in a police car, this is a feature that was introduced in lspdfr 0.3.

Cops shooting/chasing at people that run into them or something of the like is a GTA thing.

@Albo1125 Yeah I think he's on about the GTA random events, do you know how to reduce or edit them in some way? I imagine its in a data file somewhere or it may be hardcoded which is unlikely.

What i talk about is the random chases that occurs in the game, this was the case even before the LSPDFR development, has nothing to do with LSPDFR actually, but what i proposed is a mod/script to disable this, or to have this fixed in some ways or to improve the way those units respond!

Ah, in that case it's not so straightforward to resolve as it's GTAV's baked in AI.

Are you sure? There's no file you can edit that changes or disables it (eg. popcycle, scenarios)?

There is an randomevents.ymt that can be edited somewhere, there was an option called "SpawningChasesEnabled value=" in it, i don't know where it's located anymore though, I'm going to search it right now

Thanks dude. But aren't ymt files encrypted until OpenIV supports them?

@11john11 Haha jinx, just found it too. Looks like that's the solution then. Thanks a lot.

@Albo1125 @Soley Solution has been found by 11john11! Download this decrypted randomevents.ymt here: https://gta5-mods.com/misc/tuneable-random-events and you can configure it to your liking. Find 'SpawningChasesEnabled' and change that to False to stop them. Hopefully that should all work. :)

I've tested it out briefly last night, there were no chases but still the odd cop car responding to calls which I'm fine with. What about you?
