My friend and I are working on a big pack and we would like to use the File Contributor option. But I don't want to take the downloads away from him or anything, so does that option make the authors "share" the file, like the downloads show for both authors?

Pretty sure it shows the downloads for whoever is uploading it. Then the contributors just show next to you at the top of the file. They're "contributors" not the uploader.

Oh, that is disappointing then, I wanted the file to show up as both of our files.

If he's worried about some download statistic, I suggest simply letting him upload it and adding you as a contributor?

Why care about downloads? It's not like it matters who gets them.

All that matters is the content... right?

Yeah there is no reason to argue or discuss about "stolen downloads". If he really needs to see the statistics rise, why not upload it to his account? Or why not just see the downloads as if you both created the file (because you did)?

In the future, I definitely want it to show up in both authors and contributors "view content from" list and profile.

Right now, it doesn't. But it's a feature that will hopefully come in the future.
