Hi, I know HTML, so I thought XML would be a breeze, but I get a lot of errors so I have 3 things to say.

1. Can I change the display names (not internal names, names that appear on the in-game menu) from Local Patrol, State Patrol, Local Air, NOOSE Air, Local SWAT, NOOSE SWAT, Ambulance to, respectively: Traffic Police, Interceptors, Air Track Support, SAS Air, Firearms Officers, SAS Ground, EMS. Now this doesn't match up with the backup that is called, which brings me to point 2:

2. Could you guys please make me a custombackup.xml file with the following parameters:

Traffic Police(LocalPatrol): All areas in region of Los Santos city, spawn backup cars police,police2 & police4, with police4 most likely to spawn (chance=50) and police1 & police2 will both be chance=25. Spawn peds: s_m_y_cop_01, s_f_y_cop_01, both equal chance, with weapons: stungun, nightstick, flashlight. All places outside of Los Santos city, spawn sherrif1 and sherrif2, both equal, with peds same as before weapons:stungun, nightstick, flashlight.

Interceptors: Same peds and weapons and traffic police, but spawn with police3 everywhere.

Air Track Support: Same as LocalAir.

SAS Air: LocalAir helicopter, but with soldiers in it, that shoot off the sides with carbine rifles.

Firearms officers: Everywhere they have policeT & fbi2, their peds are s_m_y_cop_01 with the stab-proof vest (I don't believe s_f_y_cop_01 can have the vest, if they do, add them too), with weapons: pistol, nightstick and flashlight.

SAS Ground: Everywhere they have fbi2, their peds are soldiers with carbine rifles.

EMT: BetterEMS Ambulance & Firetruck.

This is because I have british police cars & peds so this is the british way of doing it, please can someone make this.

3. A suggestion, a form where you specify like I have and it generates the entire XML file for you to replace yours with. As in, a program you run that could ask "What is the name of your LocalPatrol unit", then "Specify some regions to create parameters", then "what vehicle(s) would you like to use?",etc.

As of right now, you cannot change the display names of the built-in unit types. I may add support for that in the future, but I'm not concentrating on adding major new features to this mod at this time. 

I don't do custom XML files for people. XML isn't that hard to use, and everything is explained pretty clearly in the documentation PDF. I'd suggest trying yourself, you seem to know what you want. 

Right now I don't have any plans to make an app to create the XML file for you. If somebody wanted to make such an app they could and I'd be happy to bundle it with the download, but my time is better spent creating new mods.

Custom Backup automatically points out errors for you. As the message in-game tells you, open your ragepluginhook.log file and you'll find a section describing the exact line number where your error occurred and a brief description of what the problem is.

I'm trying to modify the .xml file with some different liveries between Blain and LS counties. But how I know which Livery is 1, 2,... ?

When you edit the file in OpenIV you'll see something like sign_1, sign_2, sign_3, etc. That number is the livery number.

So I finally set up my CustomBackup.xml for RDE, and got an idea. I think it would be nice to be able to enable/disable blips for code2 and code3 backup so you know how far they are. This would also useful for testing the distances you set. Maybe even go as far and allow us to set the blip color in the xml, so, for example, I can have my NOOSE SWAT black, Local SWAT grey, Local and State Patrol blue, then decide to make my State Patrol green, and so on.

This is what i was thinking about. Last question, all liveries of one vehicule are all at the same place ?

I've been having trouble with only my State Patrol. I have it customized to work with my added on vehicles but it only cooperates in North Yankton

In the city and counties it spawns roughly 50/50 between the bike and police4. It won't spawn any other vehicle nor follow my chance settings for my vehicles.

Everything else works perfect, it's just my state patrol settings.

Hopefully someone can help find the problem :/

 

Edit: I discovered the issue. Two carvariations.meta files were interfering with each other and prevented one of my addon vehicles from spawning. Also, I had to manually change the spawn chance on each vehicle (even though the document says that if it can't find a specific set chance=" " then it will just manually calculate a chance)

So this mod does not work the best with Arrest Manager. It "works" as in it picks up suspects, but it doesn't follow my settings for AR

Here is an image of what arrest manager sends to pick up suspects when I'm in sandy shores using the default '8' button:

That's the weird thing, in the city it follows the arrest manager settings

Also it's quite an inconvenience to have to press 8 as I sit away from my keyboard and use a controller. I'll have to set another xpadder combo :/

 

Others may not agree, but I personally think that it should simply activate the already installed arrest manager instead of doing its own thing. Sort of how it calls EMS using better ems but doesn't change them.

On the contrary; I have more units set up in the city using CB than I do in the counties. No worries, though. I'll just deal with the way it is until (maybe) it's changed. Still a great mod and I appreciate it nonetheless. :thumbsup:
