That's with the assumption that the next GTA will even have a single player mode. It'd be hard to mod a MMO. As of late R* have only been developing DLC for the abomination that is GTA Online, and likely wont release any DLC for single player. The next GTA could be an MMO, and that's assuming R* have lost their minds and their way of tradition, which they're already changing. It's concerning, but we'll have to wait and see. It will be the death of our modding community if that turns out to be true, at least I think. R* has already banned/threatened to sue the FiveM mod creators, which is simply outrageous.

It seems like they're turning into EA. Focusing less on SP and more on Multiplayer will be the death of SP, or at least the quality. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a concern from the gaming community. I suppose everyone is too distracted by the so called "DLC" that just mostly includes million dollar vehicles to encourage more grinding. I really miss the quality DLC episodes R* used to be noted for. Anyway, enough of my babbling.

I personally believe the next GTA will be set in Vice City. If not, I believe it will have multiple cities to travel between, including Vice City, as R* have stated interest in doing before. They can be unpredictable, so we wont know until it's official. I remember everyone was expecting GTA V to be set in Vice City, simply because the GTA 3 era went in the order of: Liberty City, to Vice City, to San Andreas. That never turned out to be true.

I agree that mostly all game development companies, not just Rockstar, are drifting towards the online market. The problem is that this game is at its biggest when it comes to the console market. Not noted for its MMO fanbase. Consoles are noted from their 10-30 y/o fan base with regular Call of Duty releases involving no-commitment, grab & go gameplay. Turning GTA into an MMO in the spirit of something like World of Warcraft will turn it into All Points Bulletin, which was a horrible failure, despite having the same creative director that worked on Grand Theft Auto III. It wound up being the shortest lived MMO of all time. Six weeks, before it was officially shut down. The company (Real Time Worlds) lost $100,000,000, going into bankruptcy and shutting down. Some other company purchased what was left of it for $1,000,000 and we now have the dog vomit pay-to-win bore fest that is ABP: Reloaded.

I'm not saying that Rockstar can't make a GTA game last longer than its predecessors, but by going after the PC market only, they'd have to turn GTA into something that it's not, and to keep the console market, they'd have to tailor to people who get bored with the same sh*t after a year or two, and want a totally new map and all new content once per new release.

I really hope GTA VI takes place in Vice City. It's one of the city Rockstar didn't do a remake for the HD Universe.

  • I really don't see them making the whole of the US. Even if they where to make it at the much smaller rate. Just look at the size of your game folder for GTA V, now imaging GTA VI with a lot more citi

In my opinion, R* has already parodied modern society perfectly. It'd be amazing to see what they could do now, with a Vice City set in the 1980's. Imagine having an old tube TV in your in-game a

Definitely not. It's always been in the US. Could be in New York next.

Rockstar never puts their GTA in real-world locations. They create a fictionalized version of a city. Liberty City = New York, Los Santos = Los Angeles, San Fierro = San Francisco, Las Venturas = Las Vegas, Vice City = Miami.

The only place to come close to being a RL location, is Vice City.. the state it is in is a RL location as it's located in Florida. So technically we've already had New York by doing Liberty City

Why not for something completely different, have it set in San Francisco (and surrounding areas) in the 1970s? Feelin' lucky, punk?

That game exists. Its called Driver San Francisco, and Driver '76 if you want the retro vibe. San Francisco is very small, too. We need a big area. I'm betting on Vice City for the next game, hopefully set in modern times.

Except Driver isn't Grand Theft Auto and plays nothing like it.

I'd have to disagree. Third person, open world, ability to get out of the car in some of the titles to shoot people or jack other cars, main protagonist has a personal score to settle, etc. Grand Theft Auto III heavily took after Driver 2, which was a game on the original Playstation that came out nearly a year before it. I'll concede that the Grand Theft Auto games are in my opinion; 'better', but this particular genre of third person action/driving games has been done to death. The thing that keeps this genre going is that we sometimes have to wait half a decade in between releases.

If GTA 6 is set in vice city, I really hope they bring those multi colored FBI cars back and vice squad, anyone else here remembers having trouble outrunning that police cheetah?

I'd love a GTA set in the Vancouver/Seattle area, with border checkpoints and stuff like that. I've discussed the same thing earlier, and IMO, It's an interesting area with quite a lot of media and famous things in it.

It's famous for the grunge movement of the 1990's and the space needle, that's really it. The only other things that come out of there that make the news are meth lab busts and stolen vehicles, both of which are extremely common in northern, less developed parts of the U.S. for some reason.

That'd be too good to be true.

I don't think it's gonna be in London. GTA has always played in the US (except for GTA London, if that's even a thing), and everything other than the US wouldn't be fitting for a GTA in my opinion.

I can't say for sure, but my guess would be Vice City or maybe Liberty City. Any other big city in the US would be nice too, but it should have countryside around it. I really loved GTA4 and the map (ignoring the crashes and poor optimization) but I didn't like that there wasn't any countryside.. because it's New York, obviously.

The rumors which keep on circulating in the market make it more exciting and adventurous. Recent rumors in the market have take a new leap and this time its again the location.

GTA 6 Location US Map In GTA 6

Rockstar is planning to inculcate the entire US map in Grand Theft Auto 6 which we all know will be the successor of Grand Theft Auto 5. People have a lot of expectations from GTA 6 and this can be verified by the rumors which are hot in the market.

Leslie Benzies chief of Rockstar games spoke about the outlines of the GTA 6 development. GTA 6 development team will be working on map, then story line and missions.

Recent rumors hints that GTA 6 map will have entire US including big cities such as Los Angeles, Miami  and many more. GTA 6 rumors also include the release date which was first started with release date of GTA 6 for PS4 in 2018 and now the recent getting hot is shifting of GTA 6 release date to 2020.

Other hot rumors in market are the entry of Hollywood A-Listers in next “GTA” game. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling might get into GTA 6. Rockstar is focusing on the three star protagonist similar to GTA 5.

As you read along, it's just rumors. Other say this and that, all I know That Rockstar has made $800 million on the first three days of which GTA got release.

Doesn't look very legit if you ask me, even though most of it is just rumors anyway.

I really don't see them making the whole of the US. Even if they where to make it at the much smaller rate. Just look at the size of your game folder for GTA V, now imaging GTA VI with a lot more cities, you'd need like 3TB's just to install it, then the patches would murder you.

🕵️‍♂️ Always watching, always waiting.

In my opinion, R* has already parodied modern society perfectly. It'd be amazing to see what they could do now, with a Vice City set in the 1980's.

Imagine having an old tube TV in your in-game apartment, boxy and big, poor picture quality, watching a spoof of Miami Vice? Imagine having a chunky cellphone that has limited functionality? Imagine if they incorporated the GTA Chinatown Wars drug-dealing side mission, which would fit perfectly in the drug infested 1980's? With RAGE, and some of the features the more recent GTA games have featured, it'd be amazing to see it put to use in a game that isn't set in modern times. Along with the ability to produce an amazing soundtrack, featuring famous 80's tracks, it would seem like the perfect thing for R* to do.

I would personally be really disappointed if GTA VI was set in Vice City modern times, for these reasons. We've already seen the 80's, yes, but not in the level of detail that the newer GTA games had with in-game TV and such.

That's not really a source. That would be like me writing a bunch of random crap about what I think should be in Battlefield 5 on a website I registered called "Battlefield 5 Net", and then saying its a reliable source for information. There's no name as to who owns the site, no source for the rumors and it's made with WordPress.
