Also, is there a way to see what the mission is again after it quickly appears for 5 seconds and then goes away? Any way to see what it just said again?

Try Pause Menu > Brief

Excellent thanks, now that you told us that, I just checked in-game and it seems that only the P wants to be displayed, meaning it would be the string that isn't getting correctly passed through the advanced hook or the hook trimming all the characters after the first one (I'd doubt it to be honest). But the new hint now is that the STRING is the problem.

I don't think so. I just installed the 0.91 public release and it works fine for me, but I've sent a debug version of Adv Hook to Francis to help determining the problem.
