[FIXED]When adding certain cars they do not appear in OpenIV

Featured Replies

So yeah, when I attempt to add certain vehicles, this happens:Openiv.thumb.png.485fbda0f03b4d85388c483

If I go into the .ytd files I can see that everything is there, but the car refuses to load ingame.

For this example I used BxBugs Impala, which I know works for others, but this also happens to some other vehicles (but not every vehicle).

How I installed it: Went into x64e or patchday3ng (tried them both, same result), pressed the little green "+" button, and added all 4 files (fbi.ytd, yft, _hi and +hi).

Is this happening to anyone else, or just to me? I did NOT update my game, as I closed the updater as soon as I saw it attempting to download the update.

Yes, I am using a mod folder.

Any help would be appreciated!

The lock feature that Oleg has released for Zmodeler3 (The program used to create such GTA 5 mods) disables the viewing of the model in OpenIV. The model should still work fine in game, you just can't view it in OpenIV

Oh, thank you, I did not know this!

I attempted to spawn a locked model ingame, and it failed to load, so I assumed they didn't work. But now I tested it and they do infact work!

Thank you!

Wow, that completely ruins the ability to quickly edit and view textures.

Yes it does. It's quite disappointing really, and makes it that much harder.

I hope OpenIV has some sort of Update soon to counteract that.

Well that sucks... it takes way too long to open the game for each car I want to check out before making a final decision. Guess I won't be using those mods.

There may be a Work Around, for now. Find out what, and who's Template the Vehicle uses, and find an equivalent Vehicle made for GTA IV with the same Template, and work on your Liveries there.

I am doing that with good results.

I'm actually not doing all that much editing of liveries, I mainly like to open the vehicle in OpenIV and see how it looks before I actually install it and the config files and all of that. It's way too much of a pain to install vehicles completely just to open the game and find out they're not what I wanted.

Lately I've been focusing more on better lights for the police vehicles. I really don't like the Tir6 lights because of the zig-zag pattern, so I'm working on my own. It's tough getting the colors right though.
