AI cops shooting cuffed suspects

Am I the only one or this issue is becoming more and more frequent? I am now very reluctant to call for backups because most of times they will shoot suspects when you arrest them. They don't even want to shoot them before but the second you cuff them they open fire, it's like cuffing suspects puts an hostile flag on them.

I have noticed this several times. Not long ago during a pursuit on foot with a couple of other cops for instance, they never tried to shoot the suspect, they even had their tazer ready. As soon as I cuffer her, they opened fire and killer her.

I think that's the game mechanics. Maybe the animation which causes the suspect to touch you causes the cops (standby 'bodyguards' to the game) to effectively protect you by returning harm.

For a time I thought it was a few callouts at fault, something like suspects not being acknowledged as arrested in the code but this is also happening with random peds outside callouts. A traffic stop that ends with a pursuit: you call some backup, you PIT the vehicle, you arrest the suspect and most of times cops will shoot at him/her...

I've had this quite a few times, not entirely sure what causes it though. It's not all the time though thank god. I'll try and keep a note of the situation next time it occurs.

Same issue with cops shooting my handcuffed suspect. Also what is the deal with traffic stops or accidents where cars will run you over or they will just run through the accident scene? Fellow Officers will try to ram your car out of the way while assisting you on a car chase..Be nice if they just slowed down and drove around you in both situations or a traffic cops to come redirect traffic, preferably without you having to tell them where to stand and what to do....

Did the person run over an officer? If so other officers will go lethal.

It's quite annoying but officers shooting people running them over also happens outside of the mod in GTA so this is the "normal" behaviour of officers in the game, this is quite a different issue here. As I said I had several instances where I had backup during a pursuit on foot and none of the cops was trying to kill the suspect but the second I handcuffed the person they opened fire.

I don't know if this an hostile flag that is removed when they are arrested and that is active again once cuffed or if cuffing just puts an hostile flag on them. I just know that it happens way often, especially during pursuits on foot (probably because this is when I mostly call for backups since it is impossible to catch up on these olympic sprinters).

As a side note, this is happening with every cop not just the state police officers who are more trigger happy.

If you try to run over a cop in real life, you will be shot and rightfully so. So there is nothing wrong with that being in the game.

Well the difference is that NPCs run over anyone because the AI in this game is retarded and they try to get out of the road block anyway they can.

I have the problem too, seems like cops are set to attack the suspect and never told by the game to stop attacking, regardless of being arrested. hopefully it's fixed sometime soon, still waiting on a few updates before I play anyways.

 

I'm sure they know about it.
