Hey guys,

I just spent the last 14 hours trying to upload a 24 minute long video of my LCPDFR gameplay, however YouTube refused to process the video, it's on 95% and has just froze. So I am extremely pissed off...

Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows how to compress an already compressed video further? The original unedited version recorded with Fraps was around 30GB which I managed to compress down to 2.3GB, however I am not wasting 14 hours again. So does anyone know how I can compress this video file even further without the lose of quality, or if there is anyway to speed up YouTube's uploading times?

You'll lose quality when you compress, compressing means loosing data / detail.

Your file size seems a bit big, my 40 minute episodes are usually around 2 gigabytes, I render my videos in .mp4 in 720p with a bitrate of 600k ( or 6 mill, I'm not at home atm, so I can't check).

Depending on the resolution you render in fraps, you might want to consider rendering in 480p instead of HD resolutions, I should do that as my fraps recordings are closer to SD than HD.

How do I go about doing that? I am a complete noob when it comes to rendering things, thanks for the support by-the-way.

You'll need to edit the render settings, how and were depends on what software you're using.

By-the-way the video just uploaded then, but I have Ep. 3 to come and I am certainly not waiting 14 hours for that.

Wow, YouTube is pissing me off, I don't know why I bother making videos but my subscribers always tell me they want more... :confused:

You can use Dub. It's a video compressor and I use it.

I use Sony Vegas, it's a pain at times.

I use Sony Vegas too, and I agree with Nicolai that it can be a pain in the arse at times, however when it works just how you want, its fantastic :)

50 fps

Full-size

loop buff 30 secs (should be default)

Sound Capture Settings

Record Win7sound

Stereo

Hide mouse cursor in video

I then use Windows live Movie and save to my drive in HD save and upload to Ytube.

I have had times where tube is just dumb and things didnt work out.

my vids w/ windows movie come out to be around 275mb per 6 mins of vid(full screen 1080P)-- thats without additional sound,if your adding music or mic sound it will greatly increase your data to about 575-750mb per 5 mins depending on sound codex
