In theory the only thing you need to backup are the GTAV.exe, the GTAVLauncher.exe and the Update.rpf file. The when your game does update, you can simply replace the updated ones with the old ones and bam, you've just undone the patch.

But if you have to storage space it wont hurt to backup the entire game directory.

Well gee, I wish I had those 3 files to downgrade. I'm a Steam user. I just downloaded a bunch of new things and can't even try them for God knows how long. Anybody have any idea on where someone could get the files to downgrade or possibly a previous patch link by Rockstar?

With a bit of effort on google you might be able to find said files, however for obvious reasons we can't allow users to share links to these downloads.

Let's not link to obscure Dropboxes. There could be literally anything in those. Linking to copyrighted Rockstar content isn't such a good idea either - Please refrain from it. A little bit of Googling will help you find it either way.

He's not talking about downgrading the scripthook, he is talking about downgrading GTA V. You'd have to have had a backup of GTA V before the update to do that.

I have a backup'd GTA V modded version, un-patched.

How can I play that without steam ruining the folder by its update?

So if I were to play online
