Callout suggestion: Ambulance escort

Featured Replies

Police isn't always there to protect, there are more tasks than that. Just like escorting an ambulance. A common mistake people make: a police escort is NOT ONLY to make the ambulance go faster, but also the drive more smoothly. So the ambulance doesn't have to brake as often without an escort. I would really love to see a callout like this.

Yes! I have been thinking this since LCPDFR. No wonder why nobody made a call-out like this in LCPDFR. It would be cool in LSPDFR as a call-out or a random event! This is also crucial for ambulance that are in high priority for going to scenes like a shot person, etc.

Please somebody make this.

"NO...GOD DAMMIT.....GET OFF THE SIDEWA....WHY ARE YOU UP A FUCKING TREE." *rage quit*

Truth to be spoken, in GTA V they drive much better (or streets are much wider), but... escorting that dumb-ass AI? Anyway what's the point, in GTA V peds always die!

Killing virtual reality peds... nice!

I never kill anyone if I can avoid it :D

I would rather see a prison bus escort callout, by the way. It doesn't have to go code 3 so there's more possibility it arrives in one piece.

Exactly! It drives without a rush, so it just drives normally. Only you make clear way for the vehicle, so it can keep driving. Just remember, it's not about driving quickly, but to keep the drive smooth.

Just out of curiosity where does this happen?  Living in Pennsylvania I have never really heard of a police officer escorting an ambulance to or from the scene.  I'm not saying it may not happen but being in the volunteer fire service I haven't seen or heard of this happening...I mean after all they have a light-bar and sirens for a reason.  Now I will also point out I don't live in or near a major city like Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.

It's extremely rare in most regions of the US. If the ambulance is transporting somebody who is dangerous to the EMT's/Medics inside, or if someone is under arrest; there is usually a cop inside the ambulance and sometimes a squad following or leading the drive to the hospital, or situations where it's critical that the patient reaches the hospital ASAP but an air lift won't due or isn't possible. Ambulances can't really break traffic laws; only bend them. They are allowed to technically run red lights provided they stop first, or slow to almost a complete stop, and they can pass on a double yellow, or in a breakdown lane; although both of those things are dangerous, and if it results in a car accident, the person driving the ambulance is almost always at fault, and almost always fired from his/her job. Police cars are also payed attention to more than ambulances, I'm afraid to say, so getting through heavy traffic is easier with a police car in front. Lastly; some areas have three tiered responses to 911 calls. Police, fire and EMS. I live in such an area, so around here you see the three interact constantly.
