tl:dr version is that it's highly unlikely LSPDFR MP will happen, certainly not with fivem. Please don't make a thread asking.

All I've been seeing is arguments about mods in Grand Theft Auto: Online and I'd like to give my opinion on the subject. I believe that the current vanilla style of GTA:O is very enjoyable to play. However, I did quite enjoy roleplaying with LCPDFR and other mods in various GTA IV communities I was a part of. And, I would like to have this same experience with GTA V and LSPDFR. I understand that mods in Rockstar's GTA:O would totally ruin the whole objective of the game. However, there is a way around this. FiveM is a modification which allows players to join their own dedicated servers rather than Rockstar's Game Servers. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that whatever happens on those private servers will not effect the main Rockstar servers.

This leads to this question: Will LSPD:FR/Ragehook have the ability to work with FiveM?

Is there a possibility to get banned on FiveM's servers? Can you do missions and whatnot still? I'm only asking because this is my first time hearing about this and I am very interested.

The FiveM servers do not belong to Rockstar, as they belong to the players. Anyone can create a server. If you are on someones FiveM server, only they can ban you from their server. So If you created a server, you would have the ability to ban others. If Rockstar found out that you were creating your own servers, they could potentially ban you. However, I don't think it would be possible to figure it out. And if you were banned by Rockstar, you should still be able to join FiveM server as Rockstar does not have control over them. As for missions: Yes, you probably can. There is probably a lot you can do with your own server. I've heard that the mods are actually servers side, so the client would not need to install anything. I cannot confirm this, though.

Wow thanks man this is really cool. Any idea on how to install it? I downloaded it and put the files in a folder then ran FiveM.exe and it updated. Now what?

I would suggest watching some sort of tutorial video. As of right now it is kind of confusing. It is still in it's very early stages. Do some research and hopefully it will make sense. I've had some trouble getting it to run properly as well.

Well thanks for this! This changes EVERYTHING!

Here is a tutorial everyone

No problem. Of course, creating your own server is twice as hard. They claim they will release detailed tutorials once the mod is more stable.

It says I need to downgrade my game, any ideas??

I my opinion, making the mod non-multiplayer is a HUGE mistake.  Rockstar is exactly the same where they stood with GTAIV on mods and it should be the same with modders.  Whether it's threat of legal action or not, others will shine where G17 will not when it comes to multiplayer police mods for roleplay. (as it is said that G17 will NEVER support nor condone modding in online).

It's LSPDFR, there's no ":" in LSPDFR.

And even if it did work, it is not something that is officially supported.

I don't think you understand. GTA O is not GTA IV Multiplayer. Mods affect so much more than it did in GTA IV. GTA O is a living, breathing world with integrated stats, money, cars, houses, garages and so on, all that can be messed up with the use of mods, intentional or not. GTA IV did not have that. And as a sign of goodwill, if you will, we're not going to condone GTA O Modding, as we're not about to ruin the game for those who actually want to play GTA O as it is meant to be played. It does not really matter if it is a closed session / crew session / friends session / invite only / solo session. It can all affect GTA O, and that's the line Rockstar is taking. It is a bannable offence and has a risk of affecting gameplay.

This is all true. However, don't you think that the ability to use LSPDFR* with FiveM would work well? It would not affect how Rockstar's servers were intended to be used.

It might be nice to use with FiveM. However, making two mods compatible can be a major undertaking, especially if you change it as much as an MP mod does (remember, LCPDFR never actually officially supported MP, and had some pretty big integration issues AFAIK -- for instance, at least in testing, a pursuit didn't work well with two players using the siren; the AI wouldn't pull over for the person who initiated the pursuit because they were running from that player, but they'd pull over for the other player). It's entirely possible it'll work outright with FiveM, but the team isn't likely to devote the large amount of effort needed to get MP to work right, at least not for a while.

Yes, there were many issues with LCPDFR in multiplayer. However, many communities which were based around this had work arounds. I was in one of these communities for 6 months and I just fell in love with it. So, I am willing to do a lot to get this to at least partly work online. For example, some features would be disabled in LCPDFR and we would just use 3rd party modifications to make things less frustrating.
