I really don't understand why GTA community mod. Apart from LCPDFR mod. All the other mods do no work, they crash the game, they break the game they ruin everything. I spent 2days!!! 2days! Trying to run GTA IV with

LCPDFR - works fine

ELS

A downloaded police car

Traffic flow

I get about 5minutes of game play and bamm it crashes! It's pointless, modding GTA IV is a headache, its a mouse break and its very very very very very anoying process!

If anyone out there knows a way to run lcpdfr with a els police car that works, without crashing the game and please tell me how? I've given up....

ELS v6 is a fucking pain the ass. Get ELS v5 to lessen crashes.

I have to agree. Personally we take every care to ensure crashes are minimised. When errors occur in LCPDFR, we try and handle them in a way which doesn't cause the game (or LCPDFR's engine) to crash. For example, we disable the script that's running, so if there's a chase script running, and an error occurs, we stop the script instead of letting it continue potentially causing a crash.

Other mods don't (or can't, due to memory etc changes) and may cause crashes.

Try downloading ELS V5 I had the same problem and I played for an hr and 30 mins this morning with no hiccups. Also remember to ALT+m for ELS / J K L keys good luck hope it works!

I've had the same problem recently, and I just downloaded ELS v5 to try and fix the issue. I hope it's going to work.

ELS 5 works ok but now theres loads of taxis appearing everywhere and my Taxi fix file i downloaded isnt fixing the problem, grrrr :/

TrafficFlow should take care of it. Even with ELS V6 the game didn't crash enough to make me that angry. Your computer might be too weak to handle all the high polygon count cars and the rapid ELS texture and model changes.

People mod because it's fun, and the mods tend to work on their computers (e.g., I think Lt. Caine has said he rarely crashes with ELS).

I have to agree with you and i am one of those WHO DONT MOD IV..... because frankly speaking i dont think GTA 4 is stable... today it works fine with all mods and suddenly tomorrow "FATAL ERROR"

I only use LCPDFR and rest all cars and shit is original just works fine not much lag and no annoying crashes!!

What you CAN do is to disable ELS on AI. I was crashing because of that. Now, I can play game and it has never crashed since.

I'm using Traffic Flow (newest), IVDashCam, ELS v6, vehicle/sound mods and of course LCPDFR.

my specs are a intel e2220 @2.4GHz dual core processor

intergraded graphic card

i think around 3 or 4gb or ram

160 hard drive

i've never crashed because of els and i can run gta 4 for hours at a time without it crashing

only time it crashes is when i have a corrupt model or too many mods in

True dat, your main problem is you don't understand how the configurations are meant to be set, with any mod there are limitations that come with it, in your case having a good pc doesn't help much, all that helps is meeting the needed requirements of the mods and messing around with the settings, ELS does cause crashing if too many AI using ELS atthe same time are spawned.

You can disable the AI ELS in the ELS.ini file, look for the line that says "Ai_ELS_SP = 1" and change it to "Ai_ELS_SP = 0"

Go to ELS.ini. Set Ai_ELS_SP to 0.
