Using and developing it together with the most brilliant minds in GTA modding, that is correct.

Amen to that! *Raises a glass to toast*

  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

Yeah it's going to be way more different than LCPDFR. As a matter a fact, LSPDFR is going to be way different than LCPDFR in so many ways. We're talking about different engines, more stability, different in-game mechanics. There is so much GTA V has to offer in itself that R* never put in. The modding community has made this game truly "a perfect game." Something that R* would never be able to do because in all honesty, it's about the money.

True dat, basically everything R* does recently is aimed at getting you to buy their ridiculous Shark cards, something someone on PC would never do. It's a shame, as if they actually provided a dev kit for the RAGE engine, GTA could be the next Skyrim; the ultimate open-world sandbox mod playground, where any idea could become reality.

Yeah and that would be an amazing thing because gta online honestly gets old real quick. I haven't been on for like a month and a half now because I still love gta story mode with mods.

Why should there exist gta-mp and sa-mp as a single choice instead of making R* a real life game and gta-mp and sa-mp to be a second choice if you don't enjoy the original server?Instead of having fun, we are forced by them to not buy their game, cause if you use any mod that would "affect" the online gameplay, you get banned.

on topic:I hope that the end is more than near and LSPDFR will be released more than very soon.Keep up the good work!

There should be an evacuate area option that makes all Civs in the area leave and bans anyone from coming unless you say it is safe to come back.

Could've sworn I've heard you say that before... Wait I know I did. Anyhow, this'll probably be a feature since it was in LCPDFR. No guarantees though

You mean the yellow circle that popped up when you hit "M?"

I'm thinking of the one where you hold caps lock and get a mini menu and then just select "evacuate area". I think the result is a yellow circle where pedestrians won't go into. I think we're thinking of the same thing :P

that was the key binding for it? wow all this time playing lcpdfr and i thought m just had to do with spawning "lets go kill more people than we save" ambulances

Can't stop imagining stuff that I could do with LSPDFR. Including R* Editor videos. It would be awesome to make a video using the R* editor where you do a traffic stop, walk up to the driver window and having the view of the dash cam and you put your hand to the holster. After a little of talking the suspect takes off, you call in the pursuit and backup arrives and an AI cop does a PIT maneuver, you stop, get out and arrest the suspect at gunpoint. In the best case, the dash com also faces to the 'action'.. Eheeeehee, can't wait!

Also, when I imagine playing LSPDFR, I always have to think of 80s Rock music and a cinematic cam making it all more awesome. I mean, the arrest animations (looks like there are three different ones) look so realistic! You can see them all in this staged screenshot:

As it says when creating a post; "Please do not ask for LSPDFR release dates or updates, we've already stated that LSPDFR will be released when it's done and updates will be released when we have something to show. Thank you."

alpha30xyz,

Give me an example on in-game mechanics in V compared to IV that can enable new police related stuff we didn't see before?

I'm fairly certain you didn't mean to quote me, but I can butt in; Larger world, more police departments will offer a larger experience as a whole, and at the very least, a more fun experience for everyone!

A larger world is considered a game mechanic?

Well that is sort of an obvious example, but I thought there may be more concrete ones? Ie Is it possible to see robberies or crimes being commited inside?

Newer animations, like ineseri said, more departments, which really isn't a game mechanic if that's what your asking. Police are more interactive with the environment if you actually have them patrolling the streets, which is the result of better and more complex scripting. Everything just seems better and is obviously better than GTA IV. I don't know what the big deal is as it is clearly obvious.

As soon as British cop cars start being released for V I'm really tempted to do a Traffic Cops series or something like Road Wars with the R* Editor. The possibilities are endless.

I wanted to remake all the episodes of CHiPs as the SAHP or something, but I dunno if I could do that, wouldn't be the same without the real Larry Willcox and Erik Estrada as the officers :/

Inside of what? In terms of game mechanics, the game engine is a lot more advanced and stable than the engine for GTA IV.

I meant..could there be police calls related to situations happening INSIDE of buildings?

Actually, that mod, not only do you get a message that says they are chasing you, they do actually chase you. But of course they just try to kill you.

Well, one of the biggest thing is the port. GTA 5's port is far better than GTA 4's. That allows for things like the RAGE plugin. Mods will be better than ever
