Adding Liveries To Cars

Recommended Posts

You need to find out what the naming convention is to the car, and add one.

If a model has the last livery be police_sign_4, add it as police_sign_5.

If a model has the last livery be buf_sign_2, add it as buf_sign_3.

If a model has it mtl_sign_42, add it as mtl_sign_43.

as i said  "I found that just adding new livery named "livery5" (an example) the car wont spawn."

meaning adding more liveries than there are already (not meaning to come off blunt).

Assuming you're using OpenIV, rename your extra livery so it is exactly the same name as the other liveries. Just like EvilJackCarver said, make sure you rename it so it is letter for letter the exact same thing as the other liveries in the model but with a different number on the end. If that doesn't work, make sure that you have added +livery to the vehicle.ide line of the model, and you could try using the Area Livery Mod to force different liveries to spawn.

Do you .ide lines end in -+livery or just +livery?

heres my line for ambulance

ambulance, ambulance, car, AMBULANCE, AMBULAN, VEH@VAN, NULL, 100, 999, 0.2406, 0.2406, 0, 2, 1.5 ,1, noboot+isvan+truckfirefx+ext_strong+livery

i use liveries on most of my emergency vehicles.

As Yard1 said, the extra liveries is something rolled into AdvancedHook. IIRC, you need the AdvancedHook from LCPDFR 1.0c or later, as well as either LCPDFR or ELS 8. While ALM comes with a copy of AdvancedHook, I'm not sure it actually loads it by itself; I think you might still need LCPDFR or ELS 8 installed (or maybe just LCPDFR, but I know ELS 8 uses AH as well). Basically, having AH in the game folder isn't enough; it actually has to be loaded and be told to hook into the game functions to (among other things) change the livery-loading code to support many liveries.

If you are running Simple Native Trainer, find this line;

VehicleLivery=1		//Trainer mapped Livery

then replace it with this;

VehicleLivery=0		//Trainer mapped Livery

That should do the trick.

Cheers.
