So I was just wondering, those that play em4 and have a modification such as LA with the dispatcher, do you dispatch ALL the units that are called for, for that particular incident. If so how long have you managed to cope by doing this in Freeplay/Challenge. Do you ever get confused with it and just give up?

I sometimes try and dispatch the exact units. Most of the time I handle it okay, but once a big fire starts or more than one major incident happens then I'm completley hopeless, so I end up giving up.

I dispatch however many units I feel I need, I never listen to CAD or the supervisor :D I do get overwhelmed at times, but I never quit from that, besides the riot call. That is just hell...

The "German mods" usually has some form of dispatch formations implemented, generally I try and access the situation, and dispatch accordingly.

Just finished a game session that lasted almost two hours.. damn that games addicting.

For riot calls I dispatch:

• Two squad cars to block off either end of the street
  
• One swat van full of SWAT officers, three armed with MP5's, three with Flashbangs
  

For the massive car crash that occurs in the north east:

• One squad car to redirect the traffic
  
• One mass casualty unit
  
• One coroner
  
• One USAR truck
  

If a fire gets out of control, I dispatch a fire plane. Usually I send all available units to structure fires.

Oh and for any hostage situation, one SWAT mobile command center that consists of one negotiator, one scout and the rest marksmen with MP5's. Once the getaway car arrives I block it off with two squad cars so the suspect can't escape, I also position my SWAT guys behind the mobile command center so they can open fire on the suspect before he sees them.

That would back up traffic and then slowly kill all the streets around it until things started to get gridlocked. Loved the LA mod, but I never like the AI pathfinding in the game, so frustrating!

Agreed. AI Pathfinding in the LA Mod is terrible.

I only ragequit if a demostration goes bad.. I.e: 10+ officers down, grenades going off everywhere etc.

Shoot the car, grab an extinguisher, then tow it. That or do what I did one game and block every road and then have all emergency services flown around by chopper.

Anything that involves objects moving has a high potential for going horribly wrong when it comes to Emergency 4, cars getting stuck, peds that cannot leave buildings they've entered, the list goes on and on.

I seem to spend a lot of time moving peds to the sidewalk that are causing massive traffic jams by just standing in the road.

As to how I dispatch units, whatever is needed at the time. I never use the fire plane as you would be sued by every resident in the city. But I do like a big fire. I often wait and let them get a little bigger before I dispatch :)

If I'm having a bad day I just arrest their ass.

Seriously, who stands in the middle of the road, staring into space causing a huge gridlock.

LA Mod, if its reported a fire of unknown size I dispatch the batallion chief and police only, when he arrives I use him to dispatch further units. If its a known fire type i dispatch the units needed. In addition any kind of harbor fire will make me dispatch two extra engines, a hazmat and the harbor police.

In winteberg I use the provided dispatching menu, which is great and I love.

That's waay too high, someone's raping your wallet if they're demanding that much for it, Amazon has it for a tenner it's right here.

Ah, "Emergency 2012" was the only one on steam, I prefer steam as it's easier but I'll definitely get it as it's only a tenner.

Thats the one I got.

I was on the fence and got paranoid that I'd ordered a non-english version, but like I said, that one comes in English and French.

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but as someone mentioned winterberg, does anyone have the "winterberg web config.exe" file they could send me ?

This lets you run winterberg with English text as well as other things. I used to play winterberg and loved it, but after downloading another version after a PC reformat the versions you get now no longer provide the config.exe and therefor I can't play :(

The WB devs decided that they should release a newer version of the configuration, only problem is that it's not completely done, they didn't add the language options, someone might have an older version that could do the trick.
