How do You Think GTA V Modding Will Be (Easy, Hard, the Same, etc.)?

Featured Replies

Ever since Rockstar Games announced the GTA V PC release date will be pushed back, I've been thinking about something. If the game is even moddable, how easy would it be to mod vehicles, peds, buildings, etc.

When I saw GTA V for the Xbox 360/PS3, I figured that modding would be pretty much the same, maybe a couple difference. But after seeing the game on Xbox One/PS4, I was thinking that we need to step up our game on modding, with the steering wheel and detailed interiors!

What do you think about it. Most people don't think about stuff like this. I figured that I would get your brains working and think about it:)

I think the file structure will be similar and it should be a matter of time before people figure out the file types and such for modding cars, peds, buildings etc.

The harder part is what impact modding will have on the game in terms of the GTA Online component. It sounds like they will be doing Rockstar Based servers for the online system instead of local hosting like GTA IV. With Rockstar hosting official servers, it's likely there will be some strict anti-cheat protocols in place to prevent anyone cheating online. That may have the undesired effect of making ti so anyone that mods the game can't play online.

Only time will tell...

EFLC has (and IV supports) 10 police land vehicles (police, 2, 3, 4, b, noose, fbi, polpat, pstock, nstock), and 2 other emergency land vehicles (ambulance, firetruck), for 12 lights-and-sirens-enabled vehicles. V seems to add 5 (transporter replaces pstock, riot replaces nstock, unmarked cruiser replaces noose, FBI SUV replaces polpatriot, sheriff cruiser replaces police4, to which we add sheriff SUV, lifeguard, park ranger, and 2 North Yankton cars).

I have a feeling it's gonna be hard as shit to mod.

I'm gonna have to agree with you here. I'm imagining the worst case scenario when it comes to modding GTA V. I'm just hoping I'm wrong.

For the single player component, I'd imagine it would be similar. Online/Multiplayer, however we would possibly need a completely separate multiplayer client.

Cheers.

everything is possible but I don't expect that rockstar does comprehensive changes in modelstructure so it's just a question of time till everythings goes it's usual way including ELS and lcpdfr ;) and if you look further on the new features it's gonna be an awesome time with working extra moving carparts and animals (k9-dogs) which will be highly more detailed :) it's really gonna be fun!

equally important question - (well maybe not lol) when will the gta v megasection be expanded to have a section for modders and for requesters etc?
