Things that are illegal in North Korea

Featured Replies

I just thought I say this, why is it that we as a planet allow stuff like this to go on, the horrible treatment these people undergo and the whole world just turns its back on them? Again why do we the world allow theses monsterous activities to go on?

I can only imagine what the North Korean people are going through, a life without any pornography? What's a life worth living at that point.

On a more serious note, North Korea is a complete joke. Just about any developed nation would wipe North Korea dry if it were a "One on One" war.

Sadly North Korea has an ally of great size: China. I'm not scared of North Korea, however the 1+ billion of inhabitants in China (and therefore as much possible soldiers) are a bit more scary.

Excuse my complete ignorance on this topic but I thought China and North Korea weren't on good terms with each other?

However US failed to do this during Korean war.

If you don't mind, I will provide you a link towards more information on the subject, I myself don't know all the details, I am just aware China still took North Korea's defense in the last arguments, even though China is still suspicious towards North Korea's nuclear development.

China doesn't exactly protect them, more keep a close eye on them, if Kim Jong goes remotely near the missile button China would come crashing down on him hard, but regardless, something should definitely be done about the enslavement of these innocent people in North Korea, sounds like a complete prison down there.

North Korea was less of a joke then than it is now. Plus, it wasn't just US vs NK, if I'm not mistaken the war occurred during or just after the cold war, and the USSR supported NK.

The main reason the US hasn't blown NK off the face of the Earth is because of China. There are a ton of other reasons, but that's probably the biggest reason.

Anyway I don't think the US would want to destroy NK. It's important to have someone that poses as a threat. For example, SK is afraid of Kim, and seeks US friendship. Same with Russia, I guess. The more Russia is aggressive, the easier is to persuade Europe that they need US.

Check your history. The UN forces absolutely did take over most of North Korea, until Chinese forces intervened. The Korean War was not one-on-one; it was UN forces consisting largely (but not entirely) of American and South Korean troops against North Korean and Chinese troops with Soviet advisers and pilots.

That's what I meant, actually. No matter how weak it is it not gonna fight alone.

If the NK citizens got an inkling of what life is like on the outside of that mega-prison, they'd lynch Kim-Jong Fat without a second thought.

With that jolly thought in mind, I wonder what It's like to be the only fat guy in your country. That would make gym sessions really uncomfortable.

Honestly, I am not too sure they would. They would think that we're all insane and have no idea what we're doing. They're stuck on what they have been taught, just like all of us are. They're not different really, just a different state of mind based on the way they were taught.

I read an interview with one NK citizen. He is well aware of what's going on outside because he smuggles goods from China to get money, and many NKs do the same because in NK legal jobs don't pay shit. However they can't leave for obvious reasons.

Because you think the US are the only one having the nuclear threat and an army? The world wouldn't be any different. Or maybe it would, it would actually be a bit less messy considering how the US brought as much problems (if not more) than they solved. Even without the US, conflicts wouldn't start easily. It's called Balance of terror. As long as both countries have a nuclear arsenal, no one will attack anyone.

I agree. The US should pull it's troops out of Germany, Japan, Korea, Iraq, Poland, and Afghanistan. We should also recall our entire fleet back to the United States, and demolish any bases overseas. See how long it would take for chaos to occur. Doesn't matter what country your from, no country wants the US on it's ass.

In defense of hystery, you act as though France was useless during WW2. Let me tell you something, there were a lot of free France forces fighting against the Germans, in fact if it wasn't for the French resistance, operation D-day would not have been a success.

No offense to anyone French, but I'm sure D-Day still would have been entirely successful even without the French resistance. It wasn't just the US that operated on D-Day, it was a coalition.

If you didn't help us out, you yourself wouldn't know what language you'd be speaking today. The US got involved in WWII only because they saw Germany was starting to become a world-wide threat. If the US really wanted to help us out, they'd have gotten involded right in 1939 when Germany started invading other european countries. So no, I won't -ever- be thankful towards the US for that. I'll be thankful towards the French resistants who fought right from the beginning, as well as our european allies such as the UK and their incredible navy, as well as North Africa countries.

No, the US got involved because Japan fucked up Pearl Harbor. The US didn't want to get into the war to begin with, and if it wasn't for Pearl Harbor I doubt the US would have gotten involved at all.

I imagine it to be something like this.

Oh, I always thought it would look something like this:

The devotion of the North Koreans to Kim Jong-un (and his predecessors) is cult-like. There really is no way to tell, but I'd love to know how many people actually believe it and how many people just put on a facade out of fear. The amount of state control over all facets of life is incredible.

Well, now that we've started to hit the personal attack/insult phase, I think we're done here (for now).  I may reopen this later after things cool down a little bit more.  Remember: the topic is North Korea and their however oppressed lives, not who helped to win World War II (although if that's a debate you want to have, feel free to make a thread on that).

Nothing to see here!
