Partner as the driver of your car?

Featured Replies

Hello.

I just got the idea that it would be awesome if your partner could actually drive a car and you sit nexto him as the passenger.

For example, he drives to the crime scene and both (you and your partner) get out. Or you are the passenger while your partner is pursuing the suspect vehicle so you can shoot the tires or something.

I know that the SNT can do this, but sure, that'd be cool :) But as said above, the AI is less than..... suited... to drive :P

As cool as this sounds in theory, knowing how the AI is in GTA IV, I'm not sure if this would be such a good idea.

I know that haha.

To the trainer: Yes you can make AI peds drive to a waypoint or drive around randomly etc, but you can't let them chase a suspect vehicle, so..

To the shitty AI: That's basically what one of my thoughts behind that idea was. I'd like to watch the AI do the chase more or less alone  (haha, poor retards doing the work for me :D) without having to use a helicopter or SNT's airbreak.

If it can be done within LCPDFR that would definitely be cool.

You can do something similar with SNT like ineseri stated.   You have to change a few options with driver and your character and then set a waypoint for the patrol.

We just need a slick interface and simpler way to have all that done.

If you are familiar with SNT,  it isn't that difficult to do.  But there is some set up before you even play.  And sometimes I have limited time,  so I don't bother with spending extra time to get it to work correctly.

Some routes the AI driver will do fine.  And other routes they will go bat-shit crazy as expected for GTA IV npcs.

Yes, but as I said, with SNT you can't order the AI driver to follow/chase/pursue a suspect vehicle.

Yup I'd love that. Then again I did try to have my partner follow me in his own cruiser. He followed me for exactly one block then did a u turn and I never saw him again :(

I'm sorry but, while this does sound like an idea, I refuse to have a sorry and pathetic excuse for a driver drive me, I want to catch the suspects, thank you. :)
