  • It's probably a better idea to consult Google, not a GTA IV Police Modding community. That's just me though :)

    Bleach! (That definitely won't work)

Washing them usually works well for me. Whenever we have burned anything the clothes I wore always were washed right after and came out smelling fine

Have you tried hanging it out of a window for a few hours. That how I get rid of the smell in my shoes and that's far worse than smoke. Or you could buy new towels.

Vodka and I am NOT shitting you.  I learned it from watching Mythbusters a few years ago and used it several times.

i think i would get in big trouble with that one with my parents lol im almost 23 but still lol why are you putting voldka in the washing machine!

i would try some of that oxy clean. i mean we've used that for years to clean the fireplace bricks and it always smells good. have you tried ammonia? that stuff is powerful :o

To be honest I wish I knew about the vodka trick many years before because it works wonders.  I'm 47 years old and spent many weekends in the woods camping in the winter in below zero weather.  I did this because I found it fun and challenging.  Many times I never took a tent and made my own temporary shelters and with it being so cold out you need to sleep as close to the fire without becoming part of it.  During those years after my adventures I would hang up my clothing outside to "air" out and later wash them.  Once I found out about vodka's ability to neutralize the odor I never went back to the old way.

You asked for help and I thought I would suggest a perfect solution from my own experience.  Many of the things people suggest is not a way to neutralize the odor but to cover it up with another.  I would also use this when I went out to the bar with my friends and you get that horrible cigarette smell in your clothes that's enough to gag a maggot.  Take it or leave it, it's up to you.

My avatar is really a picture of me and one of my nine grandchildren.... I really am 47 years old.
