It's not issues with LCPDFR, didn't you see Cyan moving it?

This is obiviously a problem with your third party scripts (ELS, Trafflic Flow, Cars, Police Helper)

I'd say that it may be ELS causing this error, however I'm no expert regarding GTA IV issues.

To be honest, LCPDFR is "issue-free", it's only other mods that cause the game to crash

ok so I have uninstalled LCPDFR and then GTA IV.

I re-installed GTA IV and played it with no issues

Installed LCPDFR 1.0d and guess what? Crashes on start. This is an LCPDFR issue.

However I dont get the same error message. The LCPDFR diag program doesnt come up.

Nothing in AdvnacedHook file or LCPDFR.

Download the manual install of LCPDFR and copy all of the contents to your main GTA IV directory. For some reason some scripts are not starting. Also make sure you do not have ScriptHookDotNet.dll in your directory, only ScriptHookDotNet.asi

However, it might only say that because it is crashing on start (before those scripts can start), but still a reinstall with the manual installation may help.

lol very fun joke there.

when u say crash on startup are you getting past the load screen hit play then crashes on the pictures that show b4 it loads into your save file. i have had that twice the last few days and the only thing i could do is copy over my backup and start over.

Did you:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Remove AdvancedHookInit.asi
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: .Net Framework 4.5, Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

Crashing at the begining of gameplay is often related to the AdvancedHookInit.asi; try removing it.

  • 3 weeks later...

its not installed... only LCPDFR is

if i am correct from reading other posts what i would do is make sure when you install that you do not use the ELS version of the advanced hook. go to your LCPDFR folder and make sure that the advanced hook you have installed is from 2015. if you install lcpdfr first and then install ELS you are replacing the current advanced hook wth a very old version from ELS. either install ELS first and then LCPDFR second so you can just replace files or if you wanna install ELS second just don't include that advanced hook.

i had this problem over last few days and it helped get my game working. my advice is anything you install now be sure nothing that is in the LCDPFR folder is replaced because it is up to date!! all other mods contain parts that are sometimes five years old. you just gotta keep your eyes open once ya open those mods. i hope we have been able to help out.
