You mean like change the file name like lets say you downloaded a car and it's "fbi" and you want it to be "police2"....if so then what i do is drag the files to my desktop, right click, "re-name", and import it that way.

Yeah I took a car that was originally police.wft/wtd and changed it to police2 and it didn't show up in game

Are you sure you named it police2.wft and .wtd? And what do mean it didn't show up in game?

Yeah probably something small like you accidentally changed or erased a letter from the wft/wdt. or you forgot to rebuild and save...but hope that helps clarify things.

What program are you using to change these cars? I know in openiv i dont have to rename anything, just right click and replace the file with the file i want no matter what its named. 

I got it to work. I used sparkIV. Umm I am talking about adding and editing skins on police cars, so how does that not have to do with LCPDFR ineseri?

Not trying to be argumentative, but the cars I was referring to were for LCPDFR for adding new cars and new skins for cars,  which is why I said that the files were the police and police2 files because that's what I was editing. Solely for LCPDFR lol otherwise I wouldn't care what car the cops had in the game lol. That's the only point I was making or trying to make

THe LCPDFR discussion section is only for questions relating to the LCPD:FR mod itself. everything else like cars,peds,weapons etc (regardless of what you're using it for) goes into the GTA IV discussion section =)
