Petition

Featured Replies

Hello LCPDFR family, So I was thinking about petition and I came across an idea to start a petition that would help felons get back on track and become productive citizens. With this petition the federal government if willing can propose a bill called the F.R.B.( Felon reform bill). I was wondering if some of you police officer would help me out with signatures.

I know alot of you police officer have hearts, and know that there are many felons who so desperately want to change. I am one myself. I support the police each and every year. I am a supporter of the "fraternal order of police" I make my pledge every year. So I am now asking many of you officer to support me, and many other felons who are ready to make change and once again become productive citizens.

Thank You

Take a look at the quote you posted, and tell me if it relates to exactly why I'm doing the petition. Just as your quote states trying one more time. Meaning people deserve a second chance. Leave the judging up to God.  :)

Don't know what God has to do with it, I'm agnostic. Anyways, I agree that people deserve a second, but I only think that those deserve it if they prove that can turn their life around, you can't save all felons.

We have met before on the fourms, Generally fighting each other.

But that is in the past, And i see that you have turned your life around. I Respect you very much. And i appreciate you making the choices you did.

And i see that you are only trying to help others, And i deeply respect that. Though i do not believe i am able to sign, (I Am under 18) But i would love to.

If other felons ARE willing to fix their life and bring it down the right road. Then i will support them fully.

We have had our differences but those are behind us. And i may not know you, But i am proud of you for the choices you made. And i hope you can do this for others.

God bless you for wanting to help others man. I Appreciate it.

     Good luck with the petition.

I somewhat agree with you but here's the reason why I don't agree with you, you had the chance to not commit whatever crime you committed. I do believe in 2nd chances most of the time but if I'm not mistaken, I saw one of your earlier threads and you said you were arrested for pointing an airsoft gun at a kid?..If I'm thinking of someone else I'm sorry but with that type of crime, I don't believe in 2nd chances.

As you and i said.

There are some that WILL turn their life around.

But there are some that choose different. And for them, Well.. That's their decision.

In order for something like this to work, a great amount of detail would be needed to help shape a bill like this. First, what kinds of felons would fall into this bill, all no violent felons? Second, what would this bill do to help felons and what would be different then what is already happening. And third, what would happen to felons who don't follow the terms of the bill...such as committing another felony and returning to prison.

Sounds like a cool idea though...best of luck man!

People who became felons, they had their chance to not commit the crime, wouldn't it be better if these 'poor' people had not committed the crimes?

I understand your point, but the psychology behind committing high-level crimes is extraordinarily complicated and can't be simply put down to a want to commit crime.

What would the bill include? How would you help felons get back on track? How could it be implemented?

I would offer my signature, but I live in the UK so it won't be much help. Nevertheless, it's nice to see a genuine attempt to help felons. Here in the UK we simply don't do enough to rehabilitate criminals - maybe if you get this through we can follow in your footsteps?

The human body is very complex, so I agree with your statement, however while I do agree that some people deserve a second chance, most people who committed the crime knew what they were doing.

I'm for it. Unfortunately SOME people hear the word "felon" and immediately picture some guy with full body tats, who is a kiddie rapist, or murderer. There's a lot of crimes that you can commit that can grant you felon status, and about 75% of those were dumb mistakes made during a dumb circumstance. Yeah, you fucked up, and you did the time. Most people regret their crime and want to move on, unfortunately our society puts a huge stigma on "felon" and their life is pretty much delegated to mid-lower class.

Well.....yea and no. When you're killing someone, yeah that's wrong. When you're smuggling drugs  / dealing....yeah, wrong.

But on the other hand....some people make bad choices without knowing / thinking of the outcome or becoming a felon. Certainly if it was just a accident.

I myself believe if you did something wrong....that you knew was wrong, then you should be punished...but on the other hand, some people are good people who just make bad choices in a heated situation.

Honestly I think the United States should do a better job on how they classify felons.

Oh thank you so much, You don't know how much that meant to me.  Yes I am doing my best to reform felons. I feel that for every felon I help form crime can decrease. Again thank you again. Hopefully if I get enough signatures I can complete my life long journey of becoming a police officer. Who knows highly unlikely but its worth a try right? :)

P.S. I wish I can take it all back and start over.

Thank you so much for your imput. The bill would work much like rehab. After felons are released, or served probation, they will have a choice to either stay a felon, or join a mandatory community service program. Included in the program felons will have to speak with current criminals in prison facilities encouraging them or giving them hope to come out a become productive. Felons who join the program will have to stay clean, and  receive random drug testing for entire 5 year period. Those who cannot complete the program will fail and have the choice of coming back in the following 2 years.  Once the felon completes the program he or she shall receive a certificate of completion signed by the Governor of the state or president, In where a graduation ceremony will be held upon completion. This will erase the prior conviction and allow the felon to start fresh.

But yes, It is unlikely, But it is for sure, Worth a try.

(Hey, I Mean.. I Sent Taylor Swift a message, Highly unlikely she will even read it, But its worth a try right? I'm a faggot lol)

:) So you don't believe its possible for an automatic airsoft pistol to propel more than one bb? Yes that was me you were referring to. The kid was playing with the pistol I took the pistol away from the child, placed the pistol in safety and using poor judgment I did not take notice that the poor child might have been standing there in front of it and I tested the gun to see if it would lock and in exploded releasing 3 bb into the child's back. I took the child to his parents and stayed and cooperated with law enforcement.   The only reason I was convicted was because I took a plea bargain out of fear. I was not as wise to the law as I am now, and I was not a criminal prior to the incident. Look there are many police officer who murdered young men against their will stating that their gun accidentally fired and police carry semi automatic pistols. those officers are still on duty with their department.  Now they don't deserve second chances.

I'm glad i can help man.
