Let's talk about State Police.

What are your favorite State Police, why do you like them?

 

I must admit my favorite State Police are from Colorado.

 

If you want, you can also write something about your favorite state police pack in game.

I used to use my Pennsylvania State Police pack but now I'm used to use Vermont State Police pack. How about you?

I use an LCPD police pack with vehicles that are styled like LAPD, but I also like District of Columbia Police Department skin packs (because I live right next to DC  )

I think the best state pack for GTA IV are the NYSP ones, since they fit the map the best.  I'm actually working on a State Police Pack for every US state and yes the Colorado State Patrol will have a model (right now I have 2 planned).  The catch is that it's for GTA V and only for the CVPI model, but every state agency will have at least one cvpi model.  For anyone wanting to help I have a fillable pdf file that you can fill out and sent to me.  For anyone interested in my project checkout the topic here:

I tried to make CSP skin for DSF CVPI but I still got some problems with that ' car strip on the doors ' ( I don't the name of it ) so I decided not to do it anymore.

I've just done my own Pennsylvania State Police pack which is only for DSF CVPIs. I think it's even done well, you can check it if you want.

 

 

 

I added a questionnaire so you can choose there a few your favorite State Police ( in real / not in game ).

I live in Ohio, I have seen many State Police/Patrol agencies and i havent found one that is more profesional. I must say The Ohio State Highway Patrol is my favorite.

My favorite dept is the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP)....I like them because i'm from NC and they are the best of the best for the state.

In GTA, it depends on the game; in GTA IV, I go NYPD or LCPD, in GTA V I will go LAPD & CHP :D

I have no idea why you can't vote on the poll, I can do it and I see that someone voted there too.

I love San Andreas Police Dept because of its Police Rangers. 

 

Oh yeah. That was my favorite police car in San Andreas too. :)

 

I think NYPD, Illinois State Police and Pennsylvania State Police fix to Liberty City the most.

Now i Like PA State Police alot. But im going into California Fish & Game Warden! Now they Got some nice Cars!

I honestly can't choose one from real life.. because i live in Australia, we don't exactly have state police.. each state just has one police department for example if it's the state of Tasmania, we have Tasmania Police.

 

In game.. i'd say Alderney State Police because that's the only SP i know of in the GTA world.

CHP.  Period.

As I wrote before I really like Pennsylvania State Police and Colorado State Patrol.

I'm used to use DSF CVPI model, that's why I even made my own PSP skin pack for that model. If you don't know it, you can check it here. That was my first skin I have ever made.

 

 

Otherwise, I like Alabama State Police, Arizona Highway Patrol, Illinois State Police, New Jersey State Police, New York State Police, Oregon State Police, Tennessee State Police, Vermont State Police and even Virginia. I think also Massachusetts State Police looks fine but it doesn't in game.

 

 

Ridgerunner, are you able to do some DSF CVPI model ( like El Segundo Police by Spitfire7 ) which would have the same lightbar as Pennsylvania State Police use?

I've never seen the cvpi like that one. I wanted to fill your document about your project but I don't live in USA and I don't know all these equipments which could be seen in police cars, so sorry for that. I see it's for GTA V so I would like to ask you to make some Colorado State Patrol with 2 types of rambar.

@Valium  The CVPI model I'm using is a DSF CVPI conversion by EVI.  I'm trying to be as detailed and accurate as possible with my pack.  There are so many variants and minor changes between models within agencies its not possible to have every car match up perfectly.  So the idea is to get the most common parts to best represent each state.  Some states will have addition models (most likely slicktop variants).  CSP is one of those states.  My biggest concern with the PDF's is getting the light patterns accurate.  Although all the other information is helpful to prevent a very vanilla model.  Since we don't know how the vehicle setups in GTA V will be, I'll have to wait and watch to see how parts like push bars can be added.  Ideally you'd be able to cycle through parts like that and they would spawn on random models to add variety to the game.  If you ever find good HQ videos of State Agencies light patterns, interior equipment, maybe a walk around, you can always send me a pm with a link.  I'm always on the hunt for good HQ photo references too (especially interior shots).  So don't feel confined to the PDF file, sometimes a few good links are worth their weight in gold with the information I can glean from it.  I spend countless hours just on textures, and modeling, so any time I don't have to waste chasing down reference material is a lifesaver!

I know it's hard to find some interesting videos or pictures but if I find something, I'll write to you.

If we're talking about CSP - there's a problem to find something interesting. There are no videos on you tube or somewhere else.

I suggest you to like the official page of Colorado State Patrol which you can find on facebook.

There are some pictures and they even begin to upload some short videos.

Anyway, I noticed they're uploading informations only about new police cars, so about those which has got the new camo (black/grey with gold emblem on doors).

 

I really like that old camo which could be seen in CSP CVPIs. Chargers, etc have got brand new camo.

My favorite is Wahington! But I like California and New York!

I love the FHP (Duh!), however I do love the Alaska State Troopers due to their extremely nice uniforms, cruisers and they seem like one of the most professional agencies out there - However I've never been to Alaska so that's just from my "internet experiences" (Hehe...).

But I can tell you that the FHP (From my experiences) are really professional too.
