Hello everyone on the LCPDFR community, its been a long time since ive posted on the forums. Since I've upgraded my PC (which includes a Toshiba 128GB Q Series Pro Internal Solid State Drive ) I was wondering is it WORTH it to copy and utilize some space for GTAIV on my SSD. I know it cant really hurt I guess. I'm just wondering is it worth taking up the space considering this will leave me with about 75gbs of space on my SSD which is a fair amount. 

 

For the people who run GTAIV on an SSD have you noticed a performance increase or decrease ? [Especially with textures]

And FYI as I'm writing this post GTAIV is being copied to my SSD so I can see for myself I just wanted to hear what everyone else has to say about it and compare my experiences with everyone else. (I will post my experiences within a day or two after testing !)

You have an good system there   (I think that you may have posted in the wrong selection) anyways you are about received the right answer from me as I have an Corsair 120GB plus 2TB HDD. You do noticed the greatness performance with an SSD, Better FPS and it's a little fast. I had GTAIV on my HDD plus recording once before, and after I got my SSD and installed GTAIV on my SSD and recorded my footage thought my HDD performance has never been better.

 

GTAIV is an BIG eater, it like to eat your CPU.... just remember that.

Hmm, I will definitely have to try this myself. I have an Intel 120GB SSD myself. Sheg, I am eager to see what results you have.

I've played GTA4 on both HDD and SSD, I don't notice a difference between them.

Honestly, I've found GTA4 ran best on an HDD. I mostly blame it's bad pc port for it not properly utilizing the speed of an SSD.

But that's me, don't expect much of a loading speed change(game loading, models loading, etc.).

Thanks empire ! I really appreciate you saying my system is nice ! YOUR THE FIRST ONE !! Considering I went on a LOW budget I think I did a decent job, even though it may not look the best. Below is a pic of my pc, and I have a video I will upload on YouTube and embed here comparing the performance.

Your PC does not look much, but if you keep it cleaned and added Quad Channel Kits to your Rams card then it will be cool. End of the day it's up to you. GTAIV does take allot of your space and it's your choice of where you want it installed to.

Yeah I plan on getting three more 8gb memory sticks !

Yeah loading the game from opening the exe to the main menu was 7 seconds shorter for me ! So yeah I would say its worth it !
