Questions about LCPDFR

Thanks for reading I know its probably posted somewhere but I cannot find it. I am new here and I am very excited to step into the world of LCPDFR. I am going to go buy the game but didnt know which version to buy. GTA IV OR One of the expansions. I just wanted to know whihc on runs better or is a better overall purchase for LCPDFR. I also wanted to know what the mods should I start off with that are pretty standard for all people. Thanks everyone.

It's a thing of preference. If you can, get the complete edition (which is GTA IV + Episodes from Liberty City) - That'll alow you to test LCPDFR on both version to see what you like better / works better for you. In general, both should be fine though. Once you have GTA IV or EFLC, it's a matter of downloading the installer from the downloads section, running it, paying attention to what it says and when it's done installing, pressing ALT+P ingame.

I use the standard game, It's was the cheapest at the time and I'm not bothered about playing the campaign on the other expansions. LCPDFR is exactly the same on whichever GTA you play on (AFAIK),

It was the other way round for me, every shop I went into only had the complete edition, expect they said "Episodes from Liberty City" So I thought it didn't in included vanilla GTA IV.

Took me a while to realise it GTA IV was included along with the expansions.

Okay thanks guys. So this might be a stupid question but does LCPDFR come default with a bunch of things. Or would I need to download mods to lookup peoples DL numbers in the police database. Im assuming its default. And mods are only pertaining to things in the physical world such as cars, skins, sounds, lights, etc....

no mods in game. Download all these if you dont have them:

.NET Framework 4: Full Profile

Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

Games for Windows live Redistributable

sorry dont have the links

Either way, all those can be downloaded from the Microsoft Website if I'm not mistaken, and that would possibly be the best way to get them (as it is the official source.)

There's a few things needed for LCPDFR to run.

You'll need either GTA4 or EFLC patched to its highest patch (GTA4 patch 1.0.7.0, EFLC patch 1.1.2.0). These should only be installed after the game it's self is on your computer.

You'll also need Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

Then install LCPDFR, which is located in the Dowload section.
