This tutorial will walk you through how to map and make templates for your GTA IV models. It will also show you how to add dirt to your model.
There may be several different ways to do this, maybe better and faster, but this is how I do it. Take it or leave it! ;)

Tools needed:

- ZModeler2.
- GIMP/Photoshop. (Paint as backup. Please don't use Paint....)
- OpenIV. (SparkIV as backup.)
- The Compressonator.
- G-Texture.

NB: REMEMBER TO SAVE FREQUENTLY!!!




Start by making a work folder where you put your "model".wft and all the textures from "model".wtd. You also need the textures from vehshares.wtd and on some occasions also the textures from vehshare_truck.wtd. You will also need this file: vehicleenvmap128.png. Download here!

Now open Paint or another image edtior and make a white png file, size 2048x2048 and call it "modelname"_sign_1.png. In this case I will call it moonbeam_sign_1.png. Save it on your work folder.

Now open Zmodeler and import your model. Open the Texture Browser and import moonbeam_sign_1.png. Once you done that, open your Materials Editor. Create a new material and name it moonbeam_sign_1 paint3 [CLR:1]. Now add these textures to the texture layers (in this order):



The settings for vehicle_generic_smallspecmap.png need to look like this:



The settings for moonbeam_sign_1.png need to look like this:



The settings for vehicle_genericmud_car.png need to look like this:



The settings for vehicle_generic_smallspecmap.png (again, yes) need to look like this:



Now! Start moving all the car body L0 parts out of moonbeam.wtf in your hierarchy list. Like this:



I do this to basically get a better view of the parts I need to map and get things organized.

NOW LET'S GET STARTED WITH THE MAPPING!!

I'm gonna start with the left side of the car, then the right and then then remaining parts like the bonnet, roof, boot and the bumpers.
For the left side I'm gonna start with wing_lf_L0. Uncheck everything but that. Now enter SELECTED MODE and the Perspective view. Also enter Polygon mode and select Separated from the Select list. Like this:

rjn4 is right, this error is caused when the installer doesn't have permissions to make the necessary modifications to your game files. Run it as administrator and make sure your gta iv folder and the folders and files inside it (in your program files directory) are not set to read only.

Seems perfectly acceptable to me; he's just quoting funny comments from around the forum in his signature.

I reinstall Gta IV, install LCPDFR and use G17 IV diagnostics. G17 IV diagnostics is OK. But i need crack, because crack from Razor 1911 crash my game with LCPDFR.

Ok, I know how to fix it. Get a flathead screwdriver and a hammer. Now, unplug your PC everything but the power plug. Take off the cover, then put it to the side. Take the hammer, then smash the motherboard. Then, use the screwdriver to put it back together, making sure the ENTIRE motherboard is put together corectly.

Yo Ive got the i5 on my laptop and it can handle the gta. Im not sure how would your graphics card handle it. Its a good idea to download the game i.e. by torrent and see if u can run it, than buy it.

what are your pc specs?

have you tried using Xliveless asi loader?

You dont, you just go look for existing sirens.

1. In your GTA directory, remove AdvancedHook.dll, dsound.dll and xlive.dll.

2. In your GTA directory, remove the 'scripts' folder.

If you installed the LCPDFR Taser:

3. In your GTA directory, go to the common directory, then the data directory. Delete WeaponInfo.xml and rename WeaponInfo.xml.bak to WeaponInfo.xml.

Done! LCPD First Response has been uninstalled from your computer!

It's as simple as completely uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. Sorry it didn't work perfectly for you but that happens sometimes, no need to freak out on the community. That's just poor people skills.

I don't think you realise what DAS actually is. DAS does not let you play LCPDFR matches. It is a mod for when your already in a match,

you have to be a cop model in multilayer

We do not provide support for pirated versions of the game, due to the fact that using cracks will cause all sorts of problems. Plus GTA is one those games that are actually worth the money.

It would be nicer if people would stop worrying about rep.
