New here, but not to the emergency mod gaming world

Would LOVE to see more basic calls....

Domestics - Fights in progress - Fights already occurred - etc

BOLO's (Be on lookouts) For people in a certain area wanted for a prior crime...

Disturbances - Loud noises - parties - assaults - etc

Seems like a lot but a simple 2-5 key in game menu to "File a report" would probably be easy to script.

LOVING the vehicle accidents suggestion

LOVING the running tags suggestion

Special details would be cool as well (Port Authority patrol - Metro Rail beat - etc)

Just a few of my thoughts -

The Mod is AMAZING - however I see alot of suggestions for pursuits and what not

granted pursuits are a part of patrol - however i do appreciate the fact that I have only had a FEW

which to me is more realistic -

Perhaps you could include a "SETTINGS" file that will allow you to adjust types of calls?

More variety in calls, the game has lots and lots of available audio to make more and all sorts of calls.

I'll put some here with the audio name and what could happen:

1. CRIM_A_FIREARM_ATTACK_ON_A_OFFICER

When you arrive on scene there's a shotout between 1 police car (Not sure if it's random if 2 cops or 1 appear but it would be better to be 1 alone) and some armed suspects. After the suspects are out the call is over.

2. CRIM_A_KNIFE_ASSAULT_ON_A_OFFICER

A suspect armed with a knife stabbing an officer or at least an officer near.

3. Why is the mugging call "Shots fired" when there's a mugging audio? Change to this one CRIM_A_MUGGING

4. CRIM_A_ROBBERY_AT

This one would be on a Burgershot for example, a laundry cleaner, whatever, even a bank. Armed suspects are inside the building and heavily armed depending on the case (if it's a fast food restaurant, a deagle or something, if it's a bank, some AK-47's.

5. CRIM_A_SHOOTOUT

Self-explanatory. Sometimes it could be LCPD vs. GANG or GANG1 vs. GANG2.

6. CRIM_A_DOMESTIC_DISTURBANCE

This one could be on a house with a man and woman fighting (random) or even 2 homosexuals since there are lots of rainbow peds in GTA / EFLC

7. CRIM_A_DRUNKEN_BRAWL

2 suspects fighting each other outside a bar, one could be armed with a knife.

8. CRIM_A_SERIOUS_MVA

Several cars damaged, FD and EMS already on scene or you gotta call them (2 different chances to happen)

9. CRIM_RIDING_A_MOTORCYCLE_WITHOUT_A_HELMET

Again, self-explanatory. Most pedestrians don't actually use a helmet so just spawn a bike with a random ped.

10. CRIM_AN_OFFICER_IN_NEED_OF_ASSISTANCE

This may happen while in a pursuit, in a shootout or (to be more creative) suspect pickup.

11. CRIM_SUSPECIOUS_ACTIVITY

In a more hidden place, there are for example 2 suspects talking, or a car with a man and a prostitute inside.

12. The following audio names will all be to respond to a fleeing car:

CRIM_A_SPEEDING_FELONY

CRIM_A_STOLEN_VEHICLE

CRIM_A_TRAFFIC_VIOLATION

CRIM_SPEEDING

CRIM_A_RECKLESS DRIVER

CRIM_A_GRANDTHEFTAUTO

CRIM_A_HIT_AND_RUN

CRIM_A_CIVILIAN_RUNNING_A_RED_LIGHT

When ordered to pull over the suspect may or may not pull over.

13. And much much more of all those kinds.

Also, give more options for the user, for example the user may chose a name avaiable from the POLICE CAR NAME AND NUMBER

Pretty much the same as everyone elts is mentioning, it would be nice to have more of a variety of call-outs. I have recently downloaded Team Neo's Police Pursuit 7.5d mod that some one told me about. They have some great call-outs, and one that I think you should sincerely add, is a current gang war in progress. So when you arrive at the scene, there will be hell breaking loose. It would be nice to add the helicopter, but not just for current car chases, but for any task, like if there is a crazed criminal(s), the chopper can assist you by shooting them down. It would also be nice to add flashing lights with your police car, like flashing headlights, taillights etc. Also if it is possible, it would be nice if you could add a spot where you will always be evenly lined up with the car for the Traffic Stop? Cause every time I walk up to the driver side window, my guy always has his arm leaning on nothing cause his is in front of the window. Either that, or you could team up with Team Neo and make the best LCPD Police Pursuit mod Ever! :thumbsup:

A lot of great suggestions already listed.

Some Ideas for callouts that I'd like to see are Medical & Fire emergencies. Either escorting to the scene and/or arriving on scene to provide support (I like the idea of VIP escorts also).

It would be cool for random crimes to pop up right in front of you (traffic violations, fights, muggings, etc).

Another thing that I would REALLY like to see is improved AI around your police vehicle. A lot of times if you have your car parked with the lights flashing, the AI drivers will get impatient and run into it, go around it on the sidewalk, etc. I'm not sure if it's possible, but maybe have it programmed like the AI works when you are actually in the vehicle with the lights flashing. AI drivers seem to move over to the side of the road, stop, and generally avoid the car then.

My biggest wish would be for Rockstar to bring you guys on board to make another version of GTA where you can also play as the roll of the cops and have a retail version of what you guys are doing here.

When you're picking a NOOSE skin, you don't get the regular callouts and cannot pull over vehicles.You get special operations, such as bank robs or hostages being held in a building, etc...

Traffic direction animations mapped to buttons, since I like directing traffic and dancing in the streets, and the ability to spawn police barricades.

Smoking and lean and smoke animations, great for detectives and stressed out cops.

Make the AI driven police cruisers have the ability to be used as a taxi, or get the partner to drive.

Being able to commandeer a AI driven cruiser, since I hate shooting the cops.

There is already smoking mods.

What would you suggest as a good one, other then the simple trainer one.

I have another suggestion, have cops who are spawned be given orders to direct traffic at accidents, or allow a single cop to carry a camera and act as a forensics or collision reconstruction unit, I wanted something like that for my video I posted.

Yeah, I really want to have traffic diversion ingame but I have no idea whether or not it is possible/easy to do.

Just having the spawned cops be order to just do the animations is just fine, I don't know if diversion would be possible, unless you made the cop act based on the sequence the traffic lights go through.

But wouldn't it be simple to just create the path around and officer, such as those for on and off ramps, or when the traffic actually does merge like at the construction zone near the bridges?

Creating paths seems interesting to look into, the arm signals would have to follow the current traffic light system that they have, loop the animation for the amount of time it takes for signal to change, and would only break when the cop gets told to go away, or gets killed, or distracted.

This is just some basic pseudocode, I really wouldn't know where to start nor do I have the time, but I can see it as something for a basic Java or C++ statement.

All right, I both played PPM and FR. Here are some of my suggestions:

1/I'm a cop but then I can't take a police car at the PD legally. I have to BREAK THE WINDOWS instead.

2/Hardcore: getting punched in the head means dead, too? - Falcon punch I guess. :))

3/Is it possible to have a weapon shop for officers in the PD: To use up the money we earned. Thus, making an icon for each PD would be great.

4/Can I call for a blockage when on the chase?

Now it's the real big one:

1/I don't have much of shooting in FR, I know it's realistic but somehow it's a little boring after playing for a long time. Maybe you guys should add something BIG: TERRORISTS ATTACK: Yeah, well armed and aggressive. They come with huge in number (maybe > 10) and start shooting civilians. Then cops arrive -> SHOOTING GALLERY. Some random army boys join the fight would be awesome. And these events should be RARE.

2/Bank robbery: they may or may not hold hostages. You have to calm them, but if you screw things up -> civilians casualties, killing start. Cops should be there by the time you arrive but they won't open fire until things get wrong.

3/Street racing: cops just bump in and chase those racers down. Maybe from 2 - 4 cars are enough.

4/Protesters: things get out of control so you're dispatched to arrest these people. But don't kill the protesters or else the mission will be a failure. Still no idea how we can make this kind of mission come true. :)

5/VIPs transfer: some politicians need extra protection on their trip around the city. This is basically like the prisoner transport idea. To make it ways cooler, why don't we change a little bit? Instead of normal cops, the bodyguards are FIB or NOOSE. The chance of being ambushed is 50/50: about 2 - 3 vans full of bad guys pop up trying to finish our VIPs.

6/Some missions involve getting INSIDE the buildings: coffee shop, strip club, ... They could be a hold up or simply a date get wrong (couple fight each other).

7/Maniac: he's one man army. He is equipped with deadly weapon (RPG I suggest) and have much more health than normal people. Your job is to ARREST HIM! Lolz, it would be a lot of fun mixing up with frustrating moment when you try to get near him. (But you can easily dodge the RPG, much easier than candies from an AK).

8/Dirty cops take-down: the force decide to ambush a group of dirty cops. When arrive at the scene, the shooting start right away, but there is no pointer indicating the bad guys so you may pick wrong targets. The more chaos the situation is, the more fun.

9/Drunk drivers: simple, no need to describe. :)

OVERALL, can you add more health to the bad guys? They just die so quickly. And did I mention some rare random crashes (error in the script)?

Thanks for reading these crazy suggestions. I both love the 2 police mod, yes, prefer them more then GTA 4 itself.

Weapon shop for officers..? Err...

And most of these all has been suggested, but i gotta admit. I like the street racing idea.

Also, i don't think the suspects need more health since we try to keep this mod a lil' realistic. That's one of the reasons i hate this other police mod. Suspects are like zombies, i need to unload millions of clips to take one guy down, or one bullet to the head.

Hm, some good ideas I must admit.

I personally dislike 7 (at least the "more health" part, in this case and in general) and 8, it...in my eyes it does not fit well into the overall setting. Maybe San Andreas more, but the whole thing (PD) appears to be more..."serious" to me. The weapon shop thing is a bit odd. You can use the trunk, and you wouldn't spend money for your gear. Spend it off-duty instead (although I don't relate being on-duty to Niko, for me they're obviously two different characters, so don't relate it to each other...unless you really want to). Regarding VIP transports, the chance of an ambush should be lower, OR adjustable by the player.

On another note, I wonder about one thing. I couldn't find any clear answer on this one, but I assume it won't be easy. Is it possible to remove/replace Noose (apart from pilot) animations in some way? It's nice and all, but ineffective if you have to catch someone, or even annoying in some cases. It would be delightful to have Noose with standard animations.

Any way to do that? Or is there a mod for this, perhaps?
