Could be a fellow gamer playing LCPDFR with the sound turned way up I know my neighbours probably run and duck for cover when I'm in a Bohan gunfight lol. In all seriousness, stay inside and away fro

  • Have the commies taken the place yet?

  • Alot of times if a man has barricaded himself inside of his house, there will be tons of gunfire because the suspect will be firing to keep the police from entering the house. Happens around the Chica

Thanks for all the help and useful tips everyone! Turns out that there were serial robbers or something on the loose. All 5 suspects were killed, and no officers were harmed or injured. This seems like a pretty big event. I doubt that It would make national headlines, but I could be wrong. Might be on the news or something.

Well, I don't see a point to this topic existing anymore, so if a moderator could please close this topic. If not, well then alright.

The question has to be asked then, how did you find out that they were 'serial robbers' and that 5 were killed with no officers harmed? That would be a huge news story if it were to be true. This is the sort of stuff the media is all over, as soon as the scanners light up with even a whiff of trouble, there would be crews on the ground an in the air in minutes following the story, it is the joy of a 24 hour news cycle.

Well I was told by my cousin, who's an ex-K9 officer for the Fairfax County Police Department. Now unless he straight up lied to me about what happened, which I highly doubt, he's my only source of information on that actual incident. Like you said, it has to be on the news within the next couple of days. It wouldn't make any sense for it to not be on the news. Then again, the media is probably going to ignore a story making cops look good, but try to get their hands on a story where they look bad ASAP. I can easily confirm that there was indeed gunfire, helicopters, and tons of sirens. I do hope they show it on the news, I'm very curious as to what happened, and I'd like a better guarantee than my cousin.

That made no sense what so ever. The pizza guy knows whats on the pizza hes delivering.

Lol, I think my post was misunderstood. I didn't mean if you ask the pizza guy what he's delivering; I meant that if you were just standing on the street and a random pizza delivery car drove by and you asked the person standing next to you "what kind of pizza is he delivering?"

Maybe a better analogy would have been the UPS guy because nobody knows what they are delivering, even the UPS guy.

If you Google Virginia, Alexandria City, or Fairfax County. I don't see anything on the news. A bit weird, seems like a pretty serious incident.

Nice, I used to live in Herndon (lived there 10 years). Fairfax was my favorite place I've lived, although right now Germany is giving it a run for its money but I think the DC area still tops Germany.

If I was online at the time of that event, I would tell you to do three things. You may want to do this if it happens again or even closer to your home.

  • Do not go outside
  • To avoid stray bullets, stay in a room facing away from the area under fire and avoid windows.
  • Turn on a police scanner (you can use apps like: 5-0 Radio, PoliceScanner+, and more for Apple, Android, and Windows phones.)

I think it may hit the news. It will take time.

Well seeing how the press is covering every situation that happens almost the moment it happened I would say that if something doesn't get news coverage within the first 24 hours of the event then it never will. News agencies are not too interested in old stories.
