The Wasteland - callouts for Bohan

Featured Replies

BTW, this ambulance that is called in some callouts via F12... Is that possible to implement it as  in PoliceHelper and LukeD Callouts+ as a replacement for the vanilla killer car?

  • ---   That aside, it's great to see this mod released to much critical acclaim. You've done some great work here, LtFlash, and I cannot commend your efforts enough. :)

  • The mod has reached 10,000 downloads. Thank you!

  • I think this is just the kind of work Robocop needs in Liberty City. Great work!

1) releasing 1.0, 2) expanding the plugin to another boroughs.

Troy approves.

Just got a strange message at mugging victim callout at caterpillar street: as soon as I talked to the vic and she got in my car, a message appeared in right corner and was like 'an exception was handled properly; %insert something here%'. I didn't receive an error message, however this call was finished and a phone symbol appeared next to minimap.

I attach the log just in case

It means a suspect couldn't be created in the memory (independent reasons, eg. hardware limitations like RAM memory) so the callout was finished automatically = LCPD:FR/GTA didn't crash because of a null reference to the object that doesn't exist. That means everything works as intended and you can just keep playing instead of reloading scripts/game etc.

So I've just seen two calls I've never seen before, a car being stripped and a gang assault. On the downside, I wasn't able to mark gangbangers as 'wanted', and my backup did nothing to them :(

On the great side, I love how you arrange all those incidents, Flash! It always has something personal to it. The gang assault happened at night in the park, and the victim was a jogger - and obvious late night fella who forgot in what hood he lives. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to the ER. And a stripped car I found roleplaying as a fat sergeant in a plain car, so I only got one bad guy, an old hobo, the youngin escaped. Car was parked on the shore next to the factory - a perfect place for it, and another shiny new Feltzer was standing by. So much atmosphere. So wow :)

Still waiting to see prisoner transport and burglary, sure they won't disappoint!

"Car is being stripped" works fine in my opinion so it won't be changed in 1.0 but "gang assault" was a bit messy from the beginning. Fortunately I managed to improve it a little bit so in the 1.0 it will be closer to the reality: the four attackers are now forming a group, they will react on vic's health so the arrival time will be important. Let's say a player is too late: he finds a vic and gotta scan the area for suspects who may do different, smart or stupid xD things while seeing a player.

Transport gives you some fresh air, you can enjoy a little break and make a nice trip to Holland. I'm sure you'll love the burglary alarm; it has a typical "shit hits the fan" scenario, you'll see  :teehee: It works in typical commercial hours 8-16 AFAIR

I didn't mean stripped car call was flawed! It works good and nicely organized.

Oh yeah, the search is the best part. Great work, really looking forward to see!

They might be rare, I guess...

I know I know, I understood you compliment. I confronted car stripping (works OK) with gang assault (works not so good) which might've confused you, sorry for that.

To get more of the daytime calls you can use Simple Native Trainer and lock the time @ 11AM eg. Callouts themselves are set to occur with equal probability, their occurrence is regulated only by current daytime.

Anyway thanks for your kind words, I hope you'll have even more fun after discovering unknown features!

Here's a very short story about something that literally just happened:

I got a call for homeless people disturbing LTA passengers. I respond code 2 and pull up to see 2 homeless people - one armed with a knife and the other with a baseball bat (well, baton in my case because mods). They start approaching my car so I call for backup. By time I'm done calling for backup, they are at my car and pull me out. As soon as that happens, a car barrels through sending me flying, knocking my door off, and killing the two suspects. Then the game crashed (I'm pretty sure unrelated to the plugin).

It was actually quite terrifying being pulled out of the car by armed homeless people. I had a feeling it wasn't going to go well...then the car came and I just sat there in a "WTF" kind of way.

That's one of the scenarios for this callout. It happens only in certain conditions and is randomly picked so it doesn't happen too often. It sucks that AI ruined your immersion but there's nothing I can do about it. (actually it can be an element of RolePlay: you got to watch your back in every second, even the dumb NPC can be considered as dangerous) At least I managed to terrify you in the initial stage which I consider a great success :teehee: . Please, post here a log excerpt so I can analyze the error.

BTW I love how you guys reveal all of these unknown features, too bad GTA don't want to cooperate enough to build a proper feel of danger of the ghetto

Frankly, speaking, it'd be too serious RP and bland without all the (hilarious) bugs. At least I'm loving this.

Just had a Burglary callout. Approached the building, randomly picked the door, knocked on it.. The screen darkened and then I appeared on the stairs with the callout finished. Guess nobody was home :D

I found out that it was TrafficLoad causing crashes (unrelated to other mods, was doing it even on a clean copy). Everything has been much more stable since removing it.

  • 2 weeks later...

That you're using Reality IV v1.62? Or Visual IV v1.4, which one was it?
