I doubt it. crashing happens at random and due to the users system specs.

reinstall GTA 4, patch it to 1.0.7.0 and use the manual installer - '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

I've done that literally over 20 times and tested different mods with other mods. and its just basic stuff like lcpdfr police helper traffic smoother Trainer etc. I can't find a solution.... I see gameplay videos of people playing for hours and I'm like how the hell?

Already did everything you said by the book.

that's highly illegally. just reinstall the game from the disc/steam if you bought it that way. if i were you, instead of asking for people to upload files, just look on the website for help cause im sure there are fixes for all your problems :)

GTA 4 wasn't a good port to begin with, so modding it will make it unstable. every mod you add makes it more unstable.

car mods is also the main cause, so judging by the mod (traffic spawner) you're using car mods, try limiting the car mods. like me, i have 4 car mods (police1,police2,noose and FBI)

The only car mods I have are the police models and nothing else. I have the default gta 4 vehicles, and its the traffic flow mod

the police models? Can you remember a link to them? I have a feeling that your PC can't handle high poly mods, so it's crashing to save itself from having to much of an impact on your PC.

Can you tell us your PC specs aswell?

hmm.

just reinstall your game, add only LCPD:FR and then see how long you can play. then just add one mod at a time (make backups) and see if it crashes/

Yeah I guess I'll try that, and update what happens.

So I added mods and here is what I have so far http://prntscr.com/3tzxs4

I got a different crash message though smpa60 error after I did a pursuit and 2 cars exploded, but it didn't crash instantly. Only after I drove a few blocks away.

And got the same usual error after I tried to aim at someone and press E, game just freezes and crashes.

I just have a couple of questions here.

1. what is the "LCPD ANPR" files?

2. where are these mods located? because i see .asi and .dll mods together. which they shouldn't be.

Have you bought the game?

Yes I own it on steam for a very long time

Don't save mods in save places, delete your save game, see if that works.

I don't have mods in save places, and I did new game plenty of times and I don't save cars garages.

All of the trainer files belong in the GTA IV main folder, where GTAIV.exe is. They are .asi scripts and are loaded by an .asi loader, such as dsound.

I don't think that will solve your problem though.

yeah, I had the trainer in the main folder already and in scripts by accident. But deleting it from scripts didn't help

Are you playing from the regular game or the episodes / EFLC?

'?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

This only helps if it is the regular game.  (first thing i do after a clean install of GTA IV on Steam)

Another option to think about is 1.0b & 1.0c for LCPDFR.   Obviously try 1.0c first.  1.0b seems pretty stable as well.

**this may not affect everyone,  but i stopped using programs that have the On-Screen Display like RivaTuner/Afterburner/EVGA.

I was having problems with my hardware and uninstalled a few things to troubleshoot.   And by chance i noticed my GTA IV was running more stable.

Now it could just be a performance issue my system couldn't cope with.  Or maybe related to DirectX/D3D.

If you are desperate,  you may want to look into it.  As always,  back up important files and settings and don't mess with system settings if you aren't absolutely sure what everything does.

I have tried all latest versions of lcpdfr and also tried that stability thing.

I play only the main game not EFLC.

The stability thing didn't help much and yes I have windows 64bit
