FireFighter mod by gangrenn

-I have updated the mod: "FireFighter mod by gangrenn 0.5a_HOTFIX3" -> download it;

Changelog:

  • -changed the key assigned to reset the equipment from "D" to "X"
  • -fixed the display issues with the victim treatment system ;
  • -victim's condition won't change if you stop treating the victim then go back treating the victim;
  • -ambulance doors now closes automatically when you put the stretcher back ;
  • -reduce the waiting time when talking with the doctor

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the old version of LCPDFR, when we had to choose a vehicle (using the arrows to change the car), sometimes the game became unresponsive and the car wouldn't spawn: this is exactly what's happening for everyone experiencing issues right now: this is why the loading screen won't go: your game can not spawn the vehicles because you do not have enough memory / a good pc, and as long as the vehicles can't spawn the loading screen won't go ! Here are a few tips to maybe get it to work:

  • go next to the station to load the environment (or if you're using the station selection menu, make sure to wait for the environment to load)
  • use low poly vehicles (try to use the default GTA4 vehicle.img)
  • try and delete other script ;
  • make sure you've closed all running software on the background;

You can also try the following ideas:

  • choose the midtown station (as it only spawn one vehicle)
  • assign the "firetruck" model for each company on the fire.ini so your game will only load one vehicle model;
  • play as a paramedic (this will work, everytime).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind and I will make some more videos. The reason I didn't record the part when I went to hospital was because the Ambulance model wasn't compatible with the stretcher - no matter how many times I tried to feed it into the rear of the vehicle, the patient just spawned at the rear of the vehicle in mid-air when the ramp closed and not inside it.

I will be doing a firefighter role soon, hopefully I'll be able to get some footage of using the fire extinguisher.

Make sure you have "seat_pside_r" and "seat_dside_r", and that they are positioned at the right place, on zmodeler.

If you have LCPDFR hit ~ and type in reloadscripts and press Enter. That way you don't have to restart the entire game. You will have to start the script again as if you had just started GTA IV. One thing I absolutely love about this mod is that it doesn't crash my game, just the script!!! LCPDFR would crash my game, and because I have windows 8 I had to restart my PC to close GTA IV. But with this, I just reload the scripts. LOVE IT!!!

Wait, what? Why?

Well I heard it's because of Window's 8 but I have that problem where whenever the game crashes, I cannot close it even with the task manager. The only thing I'm able to select is Shutdown or Restart. But this is sort of turning into a support thing and that wasn't my intention so if it looks that way I apologize. My point is that this is a fantastic mod and I am really enjoying it. It brings back the feeling I had when I first started playing with LCPDFR.

This is the error that i am getting does anyone know what it means?

Love the mod, brings a different spin to the game.

The only things I would suggest, is that for the stations you used the ones with the interior bays, , the stations used , in my opinion are not very good.

secondly, it would be nice for the call outs to relate to any fire appliance based at that station, for example go to one call in the engine, then the next as a rescue truck etc, instead of been limited to one thing, and having to go on and off duty to change .

Otherwise, really good mod,

I just don't understand how this would be related to Windows 8, but anyway... Have you tried to end the process from the Task Manager ('Processes' tab)?

same thing here :D frickin´ W8 sucks, I hate it, restart after restart after restart :D

Hello after selection the station you wanna go to it loading screen comes up and does not go away but i can hear all the sound in the background please help thanks

When your game crashes in Windows 8 you cant see the task manager even when you CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then click task manager, it still has a black screen covering the task manager so you can't use it, and ALT+TAB -ing to it doesn't work either.  So if the game is in a loading loop or crash but the "GTA IV has stopped running, Quit now?" window doesn't pop up the only way to force close the game is to restart.

[...]

I know what you mean, it happens to me on older systems too. The thing is, the fact that you can't see the Task Manager doesn't mean it's not open. You can try this:

- before launching the game, make sure that the active tab is the 'Processes' one and click on the 'Memory' tab in the list view so that processes who consume the most system memory appear on top of the list, then close the Task Manager. This way, the next time you open it, the active tab should be this one (the one that was active when you closed it for the last time);

- when your game crashes, press the Ctrl, Shift and Esc keys simultaneously (this will automatically bring up the Task Manager, although you most likely won't be able to see it because it'll be hidden behind a big black screen);

- if you're (not un)lucky, GTAIV.exe or EFLC.exe should be first in the list and selected automatically (that's of course if you don't have any other resource-intensive program running at the same time, something that would consume more memory than the game itself, which I don't recommend in the first place). Just press the Delete key (therefore asking the OS to abruptly end the selected process) and then Enter to confirm. You should now see your desktop and the Task Manager.

Note to all about SHDN: LCPDFR 1.0c comes with a somewhat tweaked version of 1.7.1.7. According to LMS, LCPDFR 1.0 will not work with other versions, but other mods should not have any issues whatsoever with the LCPDFR version of SHDN if they have no issues with 1.7.1.7. Just throwing that out there, though: if you have LCPDFR 1.0 and it works properly, your SHDN version is fully up-to-date and switching to the last one HazardX released could cause issues.

I've tried that also. But the loop is infinite. The only viewable options are the options to restart or shutdown......... Any time something else is clicked, you just get stuck back inside GTA IV.

as soon as I press C to go to a station it gives a 5 star wanted level and can not get rid of it... is this normal?

This is because you haven't progressed far enough into the game to unlock that island. You can use a Simple Native Trainer, go to the options within the trainer, and select "Never Wanted". Also, don't forget to disable the keys which is also within the options of the trainer.

I've had a similar problem with windows 7. When you open the task manager go to the "processes" tab, scroll down until you find the GTAIV.exe or something, click on it then click "end process"

This gets rid of it every time for me.

EDIT: Never mind, i just read the rest of the posts. The task manager always opens on top of everything else for me so i don't have to alt+tab.

Ha ha ok, but the problem is you cannot even select the Task Manager. Selecting the task manager puts you back into GTA IV. Anything on the desktop is not an option. I get what you're saying but with Window's 8 this is not an option for some reason. You're just stuck with GTA IV, and must restart your computer to do anything else.

Na man, we all make mistakes sometimes. What seems obvious to some may be inconceivable for others. Happy gaming!!!

This sort of problem would happen to me sometimes with GTA San Andreas on Windows 8. I found that if you click Shut Down, instead of Restart, then the "Program Preventing Windows From Closing" screen pops up, then you can press Cancel, and if you are lucky, GTA IV will have closed, and you won't have to restart.

Just tried it, and all it did was shut down my PC lol. But this is more of a support thing and we shouldn't be posting this stuff here. This topic is about the FireFighter mod by gangrenn which is absolutely awesome by the way.

Nice release gangrenn, your menu style & functions looks great. I also included "System.Speech" namespace into my project but after a lot of testing, i've saw that there was memory leak issue. The memory usage gets bigger over time until it reaches the limit then crashes for everyone, but I couldn't find a fix although there is another alternative using sapi.dll.

Memory leak in .Net Speech.Synthesizer?

Hope that helps,

        e.Graphics.DrawText("Memory: " + (Process.GetCurrentProcess().PrivateMemorySize64 / 1024).ToString() + " KB", 0.63f, 0.8f);
